Side Chat ?, the game feels like a ghost town.
liquidcactus replied to SatchelUK's topic in Suggestions
I never liked side chat.. dayz is the first game where i realized how much I dont need or want that at all in this game. As onion said above "That perceived solitude is a big part of the game" is absoloutley correct.. I use to find the side chat really killed the vibe and especially all that bullshit other text that would pop up in the bottom left corner of the screen that we all know and more than likely dont love ^_^ It looks tho Satchel is new to the game maybe with more time, patience and understanding you will over come you issue's Satch. Just be really careful ALL THE TIME -
^ This is pretty much what needs to happen and one day (not soon) we could more than likely have it. Even if it did happen I would say starting off with just having zombies spawn in houses that don't do anything until you enter (i.e ignore gun shots) could be the first iteration of this idea. The sleeping zombies or in this case the deep sleep zombies

Well now that its further down the track from when this topic was originally made I can say things are looking a little better in light of this subject. The high school building is easily the most interesting one in the game so far considering its large area space and inside with all its hallways and rooms etc. All of the factory/industrial type buildings are now all enter able since .59 was introduced, being specific I'm more so refereeing to the large ones in particular. Hopefully we will see more in the future. Personally I would love to see a giant abandon factory that is 6 stories high out in the middle of a forest somewhere but at the end of the day it can be anything and I would be happy. I think we may see a contaminated area/plant as a significant land mark in the future.

Hey, My idea I would love to see.. Large Buildings that can only be cleared by no less than a team of 4-6+ players. I'm thinking large office building(s), industrial blocks, construction site(s) Industrial Mill(s) and Factories This idea would give some depth to end game. I think it would be wise to make some kind of rare item etc as a reward at the end of the " mini campaign " of clearing one of these " large buildings/areas " maybe a stash of items and water coolers at the top level of an infested office block or a nice big tonka dump truck at the end of a construction site type scenario or chainsaws and petrol at a mill.. But like i said you need a team of reliable friends to help you achieve this making it more of an advanced feature to the game p.s and lets hope that brightness exploit is fixed for the sa :D

bumpity bump wow i didnt realize this is in dayz mod suggestions because i made it before the mod was released ! feel free to shift to sa suggestions :D
-
Ok, so where is this information then ? I dont recall reading anything and i keep a good close eye on most of the dayz info :D
-
How do you know that ?? Nothing has been set in stone.. its not set 10 years after day zero. There is no written narrative. Maybe other small parts of the world are still operating ?? I would love to see choppers crashing for real in game it would at some real atmosphere and depth Bummer Ps How shit is the new forum layout ? I liked the old one heaps better !

This is going to be a super interesting idea i hope it works out and has a good response from players and we need the radio(s) to be all crackly from a distance and such. The busier servers will be the most interesting

I have wanted to see this since i first started the standalone in 2013.. inside houses, shoes off so you dont attract zombies.. I can tell you for sure that they are adding different softness/hardness attributes to footwear on the whole however so maybe we will see this idea come to fruition soooon

There's nothing wrong with this idea among all the smart arse comments. I dont see why not. Sometimes my index finger does a little jolt from nerve damage and if I'm unlucky it will happen in dayz when the weapon is raised
-
I'm behind this idea 100% and hope we see it one day until that day i will ride into Valhalla face first
-
They are in arma 3 so maybe one day in dayz aswell. I'm surprised there isnt one actually
-
naaa.. I dont think i have ever sniped anyone in this game in 400 hrs of game play because I'm a hermit on a private hive but still... naaa

hahaa not bad not bad at all B) :beans:

Well I don't mean to sound like a prick but that is just a basic game mechanic to make you try to find the best tool for the job so unless you have the right tool you pay a price. Something like eating is indeed so simple. Dayz doesn't want it to be. Simple as that

I really do hope so, tho i think it should be a bit more harsh. Say a screwdriver takes more like 2 minutes. Sewing kits should take a long time depending on the damage rating of the clothing item.. up to 2 minutes for something damaged also and even then it maybe a small result. I think one of the best reason for making crafting/eating animations take a long time is because it would make downtime, when there is nothing happening, seem a bit more wholesome if these small tasks can take up a small portion of time.I beleive making the players animations for crafting actions significantly longer time to accomplish a crafting will make it more rewarding also. For those times when there is a storm and you are watching out a window on the second story of a house and you actually have something to do B)

Yep. I don't agree with "targeted" players but all the rest are great bunch of ideas. To be honest the zombies are the only thing I have really ever been waiting for to see good progress happen. After 2 years of waiting I have learnt to be pretty patient and not believe too much of the hype when there is an update that's related to the infected because to be honest at this point in time I have no idea how long before we will see the zombies even 25% of how we would like them to be. I understand this is no easy situation and I'm by no means saying the situation looks useless, just wondering when we will see something seriously significant for the infected as a whole considering how close we are to the apparent beta

I'd like to be able to pour soda/beer into water bottles/canteens.
liquidcactus replied to Connect3d's topic in Suggestions
If this becomes possible then I dare say I will suggest what we are all thinking and hope we get "Urine" in game to use for.. well.. the obvious B) -

Red 9 is in, I personally don't care for the weapon at all but it looks like everyone here has had their prayers answered in the last patch B)

Not a bad novelty idea, I could see alot of slander left on the makeshift grave crosses but what the hell, why not ^_^
-
I cant wait to start seeing some actual traps. Apparently there is a sound trap announced using a can and rocks or something. Ideal for camp spots but a pretty niche idea I think something like this would be more suited for the first introduction of traps.. you should also need some wood, nails and a hammer perhaps to set up the rig
-
I think more unique ideas along the same lines as choppers/cop cars. Things like random ambulances spawning the obvious and maybe some kinda of crashed grocery store truck that spawns vegetables n soda's etc would be nice
-
haaha.. this is great.. they were put there by players thoking.. 3 v3s will never spawn together or with supplies in the inventory :D
