    No gunshots sound, help !

I have the same problem, and restarting the game does not help. anyone found a fix yet?
  2. I think it's a good idea to have different sets of tracks for different environments and to create a better atmosphere. but how would the game know you're in a car chase, or in a shoot out? you could just be in a convoy, or shooting zombies. I feel like it would be way to complicated to even start to try to make a mechanic in the game that would recognize extremely specific player driven events, but it's a cool idea I think.
  3. I like the ideas of gestures and some movement ideas. I don't think it would be possible though to add the ledge grabbing mechanic as I think they would either have to have an edge recognition system, or, pre-mark every ledge you can grab... and it's a huge map. Maybe it would be possible to do in a few locations, but they would be pre-marked like ladders and only a few of them. not sure how much they can do.

Something I'd like to see in Dayz SA

I think this is a really great idea, and they could even take the system they already have for spawning crash sites, and just use the already intelligent AI of arma to fly a chopper and go into a spiral/dive to the location (and i'm fairly sure this is possible to do with the AI already). It wouldn't change how choppers work after the chopper is crashed. It'd add to the game to see a chopper spiral and crash, and then see a bunch of zombies stumbling out of the wreck. BigMike wrote: In my opinion, AWESOME idea. so much potential for further immersion.
  5. Everyone likes different things for music, and so, it really doesn't make sense to post this in relation to dayz in my opinion. they may or may not be good songs from anyones point of view, but it really depends on what the developers want and what they think fits the game. Why not an original, dayz sound track?

Siren alerts - zombie horde running in cities

I like the idea of zombie screams, lights flickering out and car alarms going off. It'd be cool if it was like 80 or more zombies running through major towns only down streets. And when the find players, 20 of them or so start running at them. awesome idea

    Suggestion: Humanity system

And yet people still miss the point that the concept isn't about blinking -__- it's about humanity/sanity

    Suggestion: Humanity system

It's fine to disagree with what I have to say, but if all you read was complaining i'll assure you I wasn't. I enjoy being a bandit myself sometimes and what i'm shooting for here is not to nerf bandits but to make them feel more realistic. give them dynamics and emotions. Looking for mature criticism like colekern has added. Thanks

    Suggestion: Humanity system

I actually really like this suggestion as well. Maybe having a kind of mix between how your character moves and how your character reacts to situations/their emotional standpoint. Thanks for the link.

    Suggestion: Humanity system

Yeah blinking was just a suggestion and really most of it was. but the whole idea of the mechanics involved I thought would be cool.
  11. Before you read this, every little detail SUCH AS BLINKING is not the purpose of my idea but just the mechanics. So Dayz stand alone is in production, and i've noticed more and more that the new clothing system will make the current humanity system obsolete (if it isn't already). But more than that, I have a couple of suggestions I would like to bounce off of you guys to see what you think. One way to approach the humanity system is have it less focused on aesthetics and more focused on development of your character from an emotional standpoint. A possible game mechanic that could be featured would be some kind of Incident/sanity system. How the incident/sanity system would work on the negative (bandit) side: If you kill someone who was innocent/positive humanity, you have a chance to get flashbacks later your character's life of the event when you killed the person. That would add a real horror element to the game. your character could also blink more and maybe even have mini nervous break downs or things similar. Make the negative humanity side more involved than if you kill someone or not. Maybe have some kind of stealing mechanic where players have to allow you into their backpack/inventory/tent or else it's labeled as stealing which would have only a slight effect on negative humanity. Also maybe some kind of backstab system, where if you kill someone you've been around with it gives you a huge humanity drop. At extreme low humanity/sanity, your character has a chance to shake/blink more when aiming at players who are at a positive humanity. How the incident/sanity system would work on the positive (hero) side: The higher your sanity is the less your screen might go grey when on lower blood levels. Positive humanity events could be expanded to sharing food and killing zombies who are hitting other players. your character blinks less, and doesn't have breakdowns of any sort. Finally based on your humanity it could change how you react to situations. if you are getting shot at and you have a positive humanity you might just swear a bit, where as if you were negative humanity, your player would start getting really anxious and bothered. I'm sure there are things you guys can add and comment on with this system, but please tell me what you think. I like the idea that people can't judge you based on the fact you have a scarf around your head or not, but really based on your consciousness. Also, how cool would it be to be shooting at someone and they start swearing and freaking out? that's what would happen in real life.
  12. I think I agree with this post but I think it's just phrased poorly so that it sounds like we want an EASIER game. yes some of the suggestions make it sound like he wants an easier game, but from my experience the zombies seem broken. Often what would happen is I would get an agro far away, which is fine. I would kill the agro with an axe or silenced weapon and not have a single zombie in my line of site. after about 2 minutes of running and putting about 1 km between me and when I got spotted, a group of 10 zombies would run over a hill after me like they had gps to know exactly where I was.... no player or zombie is that smart. This takes away from the realism and smoothness of the game. Recap: zombie communication = good zombie gps = bad
  13. wouldn't it be cool if some servers allowed you to turn on the radios of cars in game and listen? I think that would be so cool.
  14. I know my friend was on top of elektro hospital, and a guy came up the ladder while he was looking the other way and shot him in the head with a crossbow xD he was super ashamed. As for me I love leaving camp with a bicycle, a crossbow, and a hunting knife, and hunting for food. Next level hunting tactics ^__^
