This I can appreciate. The "post an exploit" was a hint, not particularly directed at you, I have a keen moderators nose on how these things evolve. My excuses if you felt victimised, this was not my intention. Carry on please...

There are different methods to do this, it does not mean that a hacker is present. Many server admins will kick & ban for this, I'm referring to other games in general, not DayZ in particular. No, I'm not telling how to ,that would be considered as an exploit.

Be grateful that there are some who do not have the same mind set that you have concerning what you consider a "waste", otherwise you would have nowhere to hog your gear, paying for a server is just another bill for those that spend "hard earned money" for your pleasure. Post an exploit 'how to' and it will be removed.

When I started playing there were maybe 15 or so servers, the server cycle was based on regional time, that is to say when I played on the server nearest to my location with best ping we had the same time. So I'd get home from work, have something to eat and then (try) to join a game. Early in the evening of late April there would be enough light to see but as daylight faded and with all those infected roaming around a flashlight was most welcome, as were road flares. Server time was regionally locked, if it was 11 in the evening in my house, so it was in-game, if the moon was full outside of my window it would also be in-game, I knew what time it was by counting the strikes of Chernos town hall clock. The only way to work around this was to play on some US server, unfortunately the situation soon changed with server admins setting up their servers to suite their particular player base. Weather and temperature conditions are being implemented at this moment, so what we can look forward to in the future is real time seasonal conditions and moon phases. To find such a 24 hr regionally set server is not going to be easy. I'll probably have to set it up myself (1st person only) believe me, you will be happy to have a torch when night falls. Cell phone indeed, whatever next !

Well the player stats aren't so bad for an Early Access game, there has been a significant drop since release which is only to be expected. Player stats have been stable over the last 3 months.

Updates from Exp to Stable only occur when Exp is satisfactory and can be safely integrated. Not all elements make the new build if deemed unreliable. Once a month is the target, which may or may not be kept. Devs will inform beforehand.

It will work but only just, also the lack of sound will reduce your enjoyment. If you buy the game now it will still be in your library when you can afford a new computer. Good luck.

This game runs very well on older GPU's, a GTX460 for example. Clientside optimisation will come at a later date.

I use a compass with a printed map (yes, I have a compass and can read maps). Ticked all options apart from N° 2.

does dayz actually say how much bandwidth is being used or whats my data transfer speed? No, however you may find more info by using the Search tool (all Forums titles only). Your search for the term bandwidth returned 38 results.

Are you validating the local game files ? Right click on DayZ / Properties / Local Files / Verify Integrity of Game Cache. If you still have trouble you might try this.. Go to C: Program Files x86 / Steam, in the main folder remove the ClientRegistry.blob file. You will need to log in once this is deleted, make sure you have your account details (name & PW) before doing so.
