Verify the integrity of your game cache with the Steam tool provided. I take it you have followed the guides on how to start and run ArmA2 correctly when using a Steam purchase. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2085 FYI, you do not need to run Steam to start ArmA2.

Did you/he remove the previous beta before installing the new build. It is recommended. Might help, might not.

This is a game/beta update that was introduced a few versions ago. Servers using 1.7.0 and latest beta will not have global chat. Some people who are not running the beta build may still be able to use the blue chat. This will disappear (I believe) with the next DayZ build. @Lynx, instead of being so agressive, why do you not simply tell him why or just help him. Your post helps nobody.

Look. If I post something, its because I have checked. Rolling back to previous beta might fix something but that is not the way to go. As far as I can tell, this is a server side problem. not client. One of the BIS dev's has given the answer to a server admin. Try another server ! -
This is possible on certain servers running regular and most certainly recruit difficulty.

I use this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8242&highlight=SPIRITEDMACHINE When you start it will ask you if you own ArmA2 & then OA/CO, direct it to where you have installed the game. Same for the beta. Mods(dayz) you will have to install by hand but once that is done just drag over to the left window & check the box. If not, then this has a good reputation and is made for DayZ. Shock Symptoms If the player logs out with this status, the next time they log in they will spend a long period unconscious. It is marked by a White symbol on the HUD Causes Shock is the status effect a player will receive after being shot at by another player or damaging themselves somehow. We are aware of the to many stickies and things are being unstuckied :D every day. Also you can buy the game from BIS Store and burn the data on to disk. Same price.
