Let me just say that the Steam beta system is working and always has the last default /recommended beta, not necessarily the latest release. This is all part of the preparation for SA realease and the Steam digital distribution, so using the Steam system to download updates is in someway helping out for the future. Just saying.

Look in the Private Hive Forum and make your choice.

In the in-game Server browser type DayZ.nu. 2 servers se1 & se 2, different time settings so you can play 24/7 community dev test server (running 1.7.4.4 at the moment). Sometimes you might get a hecker try his luck but it's rare enough.. There will always be someone to shoot you from behind, welcome to DayZ.

That's gonna cause me some problems, I'll have to review my strategy. Not sure that the variant (1) is correct, seems a little extreme.
