I vote for animated version because it is more authentic. The instant switch version would be useful against Z's but will be abused in PvP situations. In my humble opinion.

No idea, system ram is a little light but that should not be the cause unless you've messed with priorities. Strange that you have no problem with vanilla SP ArmA2/CO. Try joining a vanilla ArmA2/CO MP game (Wasteland). If you have no problems with that, create another profile, start DayZ, set up your controls and see if that helps.
