Change your name in Steam profile. There is a Map on-line somewhere or other. In game you need to find the relevent map (SE/SW/N/S) and a compass.

Are you using any programs to start DayZ Mod ?. Try running ArmA2/CO without DayZ and see if you can join servers. Vs N° of both DayZ & ArmA2/CO ?

Try using DayZ Commander and make sure you have what you need. You do own ArmA2/CO ? ************************************ The rest of you, if you have nothing worthwhile to add to the Topic, keep out. Spam Ban is always a possibility. Be warned.

DayZ Mod or DayZ SA ? If the later and you are using XP then you are out of luck, it may run but is not supported. If you are talking about the Mod (ArmA2/CO) there should be a solution out there somewhere. -

Using EPOCH: 1.0.3.1 Using Namalsk: 0.75 This is where the problem lies, no doubt. Try and join a vanilla DayZ Server. I believe there is an oficial servers only filter option in DZC. -

Better give more details, which Mod if not DayZ Official are you running. How are you starting up DayZ (DayZ Commander or other). Version N°. I am not very knowlegable in this aspect so you need to be more precise, so that others may give thier advice.
