I hope once they add more snipers and tweak the attachments people won't be sniping extreme ranges with Mosins anymore... this is, and should be, a low-end gun. It's not something that should be making 1200 meter shots on people, that's insane precision and a sign certain things need to be altered. That's world-record type sniping.

Nah Lee-Enfield was only introduced in the first place because it was the only non-scoped bolt-action rifle available in ARMA. It fits Takistan, not Chernarus. Takistan is based on Afghanistan which is beside Pakistan. Pakistan was part of India, and India was ruled by the British. The Indian Army had millions of men all armed with Lee-Enfields. India themselves produced their own Enfields until 1975. Lee-Enfields are still very very common in India. Pakistan, being a part of India until 1947, also had a substantial amount of Lee-Enfields. Pakistan beside Afghanistan = Lee-Enfields in Afghanistan. Takistan based on Afghanistan = Lee-Enfields in Takistan. This being a standalone game with everything created from scratch? There are many choices which would be much more suitable.

The version in the game is, apparently, the "Luxus" grade, specifically the BB95. It has an engraving of red deer on the sideplate. The difference between the B95 and the B97 lies in the interals. The B95 only has one lock; the B97 has two. You will notice there is a cocking slide on the wrist, this is used to cock and decock the rifle. In both the B95 and B97 you push this forward to cock the gun. The B95 only cocks one barrel, and the gun must be re-cocked before firing the second barrel. The B97 cocks both barrels and does not require re-cocking before firing the second shot. This is something apparently more popular in Europe; it allows hunters to carry a gun with a cartridge chambered but the action uncocked. Both barrels are free-floating. Blaser offers scope mounts for prism rail, ZEISS ZM/VM, Swarovski SR and Schmidt & Bender Convex rail systems. They also provide mounts with 1", 30mm and 34mm rings. We might see a Zeiss Terra that could fit on this rifle. Just a wild suspicion on my part. The stock is walnut and there are 11 grades available. The main problem with double rifles is the two barrels. Properly regulating them can be difficult and expensive, so there are few cheap double rifles. The two barrels must be adjusted until their projectiles converge at a specified distance. Some double rifles simply had two sets of sights, one for each barrel. However the Blaser has adjustable screws that allow the user to regulate the barrel themselves and unlike the old double-rifles is in an over/under configuration.The front trigger fires the lower barrel, the rear trigger, the upper barrel. The gun in-game uses 7.62x51mm; the gun is chambered for .308 Winchester. This is not an error as it could use either cartridge. It is fairly light, somewhere around 3.4 kg / 7.5 lbs. Details in-game: Currently it is less accurate than the Mosin and slightly more accurate than the SKS. In reality, this is a much more accurate rifle than your average Mosin - just as you'd expect, given its multi-thousand dollar price tag... I would not be pleased to pay big bucks for a rifle that shoots like than your average Mosin does. So it should be much more accurate. This is a €5,000 rifle ($7,000 USD), accordingly, I wouldn't expect it to be found everywhere, I would expect it to be very rare. The only kind of people who buy these rifles are people who can afford and appreciate a finely crafted $7,000 hunting rifle. The two barrels I expect are treated as one in-game and as such regulation and divergence is not an issue.

It's great to know that the team is taking an interest in these characteristics. External ballistics is one of my favorite things, along with cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels. It is much appreciated!

Depends on the load, of which there are hundreds. Generally faster. Full-power 1oz slugs are generally advertised at around 1600 fps. 9-pellet 00 buckshot is in the 1300 fps range. Reduced recoil slugs are in the 1200-1300 fps range, reduced recoil 00 buckshot is in the 1100-1200 fps range.The numbers are usually for full-length barrels.

I don't consider it a "battle rifle". As it says on Wiki: "A battle rifle is a select fire or semi-automatic military service rifle that fires a full-power rifle cartridge, such as 7.62x51mm NATO." The SKS uses an intermediate cartridge. As such it doesn't fit that definition of "battle rifle" any more than the AK-47 does.

If it shoots to the left then it shoots to the left at every range... the bullet isn't going to change course mid-flight.

AK-74M and AK-74 first AKM second AK-47, maybe not at all

This is how is was in ARMA, the CDF was still using AK-74s in 2009 - the guerilla and insurgent factions were the ones still using AKMs. This is what I'm thinking: -AK-47 is standardized by the Soviets in 1949, and is produced until 1959 (10 years) -this means there are many millions of AK-47s -the AKM is introduced in 1959 -from 1959 onwards it serves as the standard rifle until replaced in front-line service by the AK-74 (15-17 years) -what happened to all the AK-47s? They wouldn't have destroyed them. There are too many to be useful just sitting there -what did the superpowers like to do during the Cold War? Trying to draw countries into their spheres of influence -the Soviets sold or gave away huge amounts of surplus weapons to countries in the Middle East and Africa So I would assume - most AK-47s today are seen in the Middle East or Africa. No evidence, just conjecture...

What, most of the time when you see a person or a publication referring to "AK-47s" they are actually talking about AKMs, Type 56s, etc. I would definitely add the AKM before the AK-47, and I would lean towards not even adding an AK-47 at all... they certainly aren't rare but I'd have to do more research on the exact production numbers, where they all went to and where they are most prevalent... The AKM looks classic to me

Well, depends on the machete... most basic working machetes are "dull as" from the factory, it's expected that you sharpen them yourselves, brands like Tramontina, Imacasa, Martindale, Ontario, all dull. High-end ones like Condors can come razor sharp, also machetes that are more knife-like, or more weapon than tool.

I was disappointed to learn the "Shrapnel-10" has fourteen 0-size pellets... the Shrapnel-25 only has nine 00-size pellets. Nine pellets of 00 buck! The exact same as the standard 12-gauge... massive let-down." The larger diameter is an advantage when launching rubber balls and some other specialty ammunition. However the solid steel slug is sub-caliber, more around 12mm diameter.

Yep. The Combat Knife is based on the Glock Feldmesser FM 81. It would be most useful as a stabbing weapon. However I disagree that it should be good just because it's rare. A kitchen knife could be an equally effective stabbing weapon. A lot of people sometimes forget that, because they are seen as mundane objects... but they have guards for stabbing, very large, pointy and wide blades, etc. With knives of this size and weight, damage for slashing should depend mostly on how sharp the knife is, and that would help with stabbing too. I think ALL knives need a massive buff...

IMO: Mosin, M4 < scoped Mosin, SKS < scoped SKS < Magpul M4 Of course the M4 should be the best, hopefully it will be in the future... otherwise the US Army would dump it and adopt the Simonov.

Who says they bought them? Heheh. In any case, those type of people aren't punching paper with them. It's more useful if it can be concealed. Better than nothing I guess.

If they ever add an "obrez" they need to add the same function for many other guns... wouldn't make sense for the hacksaw not to work other rifles like Mausers, CZ550s, and 10/22s. And yes, sawed-off 10/22s are "a thing". ^ran across that last one on GhettoMyspace... : /
