    Like to See Squad.xml Added

    I don't really care if they add squad XML. I don't get why some people are talking realism and authenticity. Want to talk realism and authenticity? There are plenty of bigger issues than little patches on some clan's arms. Like the hundreds of Bobo the Clown masks I'm finding all over the place. Let people loot blank pieces of cloth which can then display squad.XML and be sewn onto their clothes. Done.

    Military Weapons, Snipers, Ect.

    Of course military weapons shouldn't be removed from the game. DMRs and M107s and other out-of-place Western weapons should be removed from the game. I want to see certain "military grade sniper rifles". I don't feel any of the following weapons would be too terribly out of place.

    Engine and animations

    Animating the pump is no problem. Getting the hand to move as well... that's a problem. A ghost pump is just as bad (or worse) than no animation at all. Iron Front did it in a kind of messy way, by adding scripts executed when the guns were fired. From what I've heard the animations didn't sync all that great. BIS could do it though since these are mainly problems modders face.
  7. I did some calculations on the chance of hitting a head or torso with an unmodified, basic Mosin (no attachments). These are the approximate hit probabilities. Headshot, perfect aim 100% = 75 meters 75% = 100 meters 50% = 125 meters 25% = 175 meters Torso, perfect aim 100% = 150 meters 75% = 260 meters 50% = 320 meters 25% = 450 meters ‎
  8. Apparently gear can be ruined if it gets too wet. Tactical vest should be superior in this regard. Maybe that applies to things inside it as well.

    I believe this was actually for the mod. I tried crafting optics when they announced this. It didn't work out so well.

    Dual Wielding

    What, I assumed this would be about pistols again... two shotguns? Two sawn off shotguns? 12 gauge? Just try that in real life and report back to us...
  11. LOL You don't say? It's about a million times harder. The entire games are centered around avionics and flight mechanics. I agree though. In terms of controls I would like if DayZ were fully as realistic as Falcon 4.0 or DCS Blackshark 2. That being said I don't think it's feasible.
  12. That's up to the devs. Those are my suspicions. It doesn't. (anyways the only way .45 or .357 will be "low velocity" is at several hundreds of meters)

    I think add some wind. Chernarus must have a giant glass dome around it. Sniping at long range will be a bit more difficult if the wind is pushing your bullets 1-2 meters off target vs 1-2 cm at closer ranges.

    It's more like having random gamers enter a public server, play the game, have the admins kick them off for playing the game, breaking the hosting rules the admins agreed to follow when they decided to rent the server in the first place, having their server taken away as per the terms and conditions... and then complaining that their server was taken away. Hm.

    "basic Mosin" "approximate" And if you want the full truth, it's technically not even the probabilities of hitting a "head" or a "torso", it's the probabilities of hitting a 0.25 x 0.1825 meter ellipse and a 0.667 x 0.375 meter rectangle. Oh! Forgive me Father, for I have sinned!

    Which is why I added "basic [...] Mosin". I don't yet know how (or if) gun condition affects accuracy. So far I've only seen one accuracy value per weapon, modified by attachments. So far it also seems to correspond to other tests (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160401-mosin-test-effect-of-bipod-video/). If there is some hidden accuracy modifiers based on gun condition, I would assume the standard value would be for a pristine weapon.
