Toggled arrow would be nice... hidden while not in use. Presenting it using just the environment is a nice concept but it would require a lot of effort and I can't see it working all too well. But maybe I'm wrong.

Two things: 1. I hope the wind drift is done in the correct fashion: (otherwise I can potentially see certain bullets being given more or less wind drift for gameplay reasons, or by mistake, when that would make no sense from a physics standpoint) 2. There needs to be some way of estimating wind. This requires a new HUD item.

I'm speaking to no one in particular Seriously though... I want to know where that -0.0440968 came from, that is a [crazy] precise number. That is not off the top of someone's head, there was some calculation involved in that. I wonder what it was. Otherwise it would have made more sense to just put -0.0441, no?

This kind of thing makes me wonder who came up with it, and how... Seriously, what is the point of putting extremely precise, very specific and seemingly random numbers down to one ten-millionth? Like, wouldn't 0.0118 do? Why the extra 0.0000064 tacked on there? Where did that come from? I'm curious! For example those last two digits will increase the M4's dispersion by a puny 6.4 millimeters at a distance of 1-kilometer. What? If you're reading this Mr. Configuration, round your numbers off! It hurts my OCD!

The base figure for the M4 is without any stock or handguard. Dispersion for M1911 is exactly 27 inches at 25 yards. Dispersion for M4A1 is 42.5 inches at 100 yards (10.6" at 25 yd).

More undergrowth, everyone wants it... We won't get "real" forests though - too many objects.

Yes, yes they have. A G3 and FN FAL would do nicely. Both saw use in the Balkans.

Oh sheeeeet. That reminds me, last time I played (which was a long time ago) I ended the session after breaking my legs running over a rock. I guess I'll be in trouble when I log in...

Some NATO weapons are inevitable and many are appropriate. The thing is they don't use all of them at the same time. They might use M4s to special forces, or they might use G36 to front line troops while keeping the Kalashnikovs in reserve, but no country on earth issues a potpourri of G36s, SCARs, FAMAS, SA80s, HK416s, Galils, Bushmaster ACRs and M14 EBRs. Some people want each and every one of those weapons in the game - I would consider that to show carelessness and a lack of quality and focus on the part of the devs. Some people would consider that fun - I call it a clusterfuck.

There was no good reason to remove vault until they came up with a better "crippled animation". Vaulting everywhere would be so damn slow it would the same thing as being crippled anyways. I see no problems.

I don't see a "no" there Edit: oh wait, there is, thought you meant the SVT40. Must be a typo.

The XD came out in 2002, its Croatian predecessor in 1999...

The AS50 TWS is already confirmed, it's right in the files along with the other weapons on the current experimental build. It's true it's in the files - but it's obviously just a joke by the devs.

Thread needs more Hawken IMO the most versatile blackpowder firearm is not a rifle, it is a shotgun, you can use it with anything from birdshot to pumpkin balls, it works for any type of game, including people, and you have two shots. Navy Arms "Magnum", first imported during the 1970s muzzleloading mania

ACE pistols: 0.004 = 3.6 inches at 25 yards DayZ pistols: 0.03 = 2 feet 3 inches at 25 yards (7.5x worse) ACE M4A1: 0.00225 = 8.1 inches at 100 yards DayZ M4A1: 0.0118064 = 3 feet 6.5 inches at 100 yards (5.25x worse) Correct, it is slightly more accurate. AFAIK it gives it 0 dispersion, infinitely perfect accuracy. Same with the Mosin. Some older ACE version even had much larger dispersion, ie: "0.0025*1.5" for the M4A1, which equals 0.00375. I don't agree with some of their choices, for example they gave the M4A1 about 2-3 times more dispersion than typical groups at 100 yards... okay, whatever... but then they gave the M14 a more normal number (2.5 inches at 100 yards). They should have either given both normal dispersions, or given both 2-3 times larger. No inconsistencies. Another example, they seem to have given the AK the exact same dispersion as the M4. The Lee-Enfield is also too accurate.

I loved the GSh-23 in Red Dead Redemption. Ace. -
1 fact 90% of you didn't know before.
-Gews- replied to HeroOfTheHeros's topic in General Discussion
The pistol is Пистолет Макарова. The man's name is Никола́й Макаров. The "а" is like "'s" in English, instead of "Makarov pistol" they say "Makarov's pistol". -
The AK has a shorter effective range than the M4 Carbine so I don't get the "little longer range" part, and using common military ammunition, at closer ranges the 5.56 also has the potential to create much more serious wounds, either round is adequate. Main advantage of AK is the oft-mentioned reliability in adverse conditions. Take that away and it would have few advantages over the M4...

They call it the PM or Makarov's pistol, the pistol's name is pronounced like so: They also call it "Mosina", "Simonova", "Tokareva", in English we should not add the "a". Without the "a" that's "mu-CAR-uv" to my ears. -
1. Does the M4 still "feel right" when it has Magpul parts on it? 2. Did ARMA's M4 feel wrong? 3. Does the SKS feel right? 4. Does a Mosin with a compensator feel right?

I remember he posted about a P38 nearly a month ago. Megatron: "Wish it was the Walther P38." Scubaman3D: "Its on my weapons wish list. I have a half-finished p38 model on one of my HD backups somewhere..." http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1zffku/new_weapon_ruger_mkii_closeup_screenshot/cftm7pi

Looked into this a bit more and this is wrong, I redid it correctly: Sodier with AKM firing from prone, single shot, rounded to nearest 10%, torso-sized target -------------------No range or windage errors-----------with average errors------------------------- 200 meters--------------------90-------------------------------80-------------------------------------- 300 meters--------------------70-------------------------------30-------------------------------------- 400 meters--------------------40-------------------------------10-------------------------------------- 600 meters--------------------20--------------------------------0-------------------------------------- 800 meters--------------------10--------------------------------0-------------------------------------- Well, interesting.
