Russians never used the AN94 apart from a few small units in limited numbers. And the rifle was withdrawn from service in 2009 on signed orders by the Defence Minister. The AK107 does fit because in ARMA 2 it was the Russians' service rifle. So the AK107 makes sense within the Armaverse. I find this unfortunate because in real life no one uses this rifle, but I can't really complain given the facts from ARMA 2.

Well, judging by the complaints it's not "fine" (this is not beta yet either) and it breaks my immersion... but since you don't seem to worry about these details, realism would also be "fine", no? So let's go with that instead.

The best time to have a machine gun is if you're part of a squad The role for these things is infantry support A "lone wolf" who wants to run all across the countryside with an M240B instead of some handy carbine is a crazy man And the same should apply in the game... unlike in weightless ARMA 2 They are not the "best weapon", the "best weapon" depends on the situation

are pistols worth using indoors over rifles?
-Gews- replied to Thaeggan's topic in General Discussion
Over an SKS? "Maybe" if it's an FNX45 "no" if it's anything else. -
It was somewhere about 19 km/h in the mod and around 23 km/h while sprinting. The speeds felt even faster in standalone never mind the old fists-up-while-running but I never checked it. But too fast either way.

Well if people are going on about "less military weapons, more hunting weapons" there should of course be more than one bolt-action scoped rifle... three, four even. Sometimes it seems to have no problem with having several pistols, several shotguns, several assault rifles, but balk at the thought of several scoped bolt actions because they are "snipers"... well, scoped bolt actions tend to be the most common hunting rifles so be careful what you wish for... Hunting guns always tend to get short thrift in games. Look at the mod... one solitary commercial hunting rifle. Bah. -
Sounds more like a stapler than a gun right now.

Experimental - You Can Zoom While Looking Down Sights!
-Gews- replied to Admiral_69's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, like that. But not 3.3x. It's the inconsistencies between scopes, iron sights and normal vision that is the problem, the PU scope is not providing a 3.5x larger magnification than your player's eyes do. -

Nope, at any FoV it will always be the same magnification compared to the iron sights at that FoV. -

Na... it ain't fixed. Saw someone post "PU now has correct zoom" on Reddit, checked, and... they were comparing it to the initial zoomed out level, not the zoomed in level as they are supposed to. And even then it was only 3.3x. <_< There have been no changes to the PU's zoom, it's the same as ever. -

It doesn't matter whether it's a Remington or Savage or Tikka or what-have-you, any modern hunting rifle is going to be considered a "sniper". Anyways the CZ550 is a better choice than the 700 given the ARMA and Czech ties and the overall feel of the game. -
Back in the days when they were "notorious" for inaccuracy they weren't even referred to as 1911s. And it wasn't true then either.

Is the CR75 actually a CZ75? It doesn't look like it :/

Of course the name is protected You can even trademark the shape -
You will die because you'll starve or whatever. Otherwise you will swim to infinity and beyond.

Beards are a good idea everyone seems to like. You could find a razor as loot and shave them off too. Or use a knife.

The sawn-off should have pistol sway and pistol accuracy and the full-size should have rifle sway and better accuracy. But the spread itself should be similar.

Yes they do. Are they spawning, I don't know.

Zargabad, 1373 meters: The ~1550 meters I did not record. He was kneeling in the middle of Loy Manara airfield and I was on the hill to the Northeast. I aimed way above him (he was entirely off the screen), fired and saw the blood as the shot hit him. However he just ran away and got in someone's Humvee. Edit: and by the way, about the video, I killed two people in the exact same place. The first one I raged because Bandicam failed to capture it. However another guy ran up to the same spot so I did it again and got it on cam the second time.
-
At the maximum range of 1850 meters it still has 20% more damage than the .22.

There is no difference. Pick the one you like the best.

"Ballistics" usually refers to a few things... For example "a 139 grain bullet at 2690 ft/s propelled by 42.4 grains of BF powder with a maximum pressure of 40610 psi" refers to the internal and external ballistics of the French 7.5mm out of a MAS36... Or "a G7 ballistic coefficient of .368 and an initial velocity of 2723 ft/s with a maximum ballistic range of 5.7 kilometers" refers to the external ballistics of the Lapua's .338 loaded with the 300-grain Scenar. Or "penetration of 14.2 inches in calibrated ballistic gelatin with an expanded diameter of 0.71 inches and 98% weight retention" refers to the terminal ballistics of a .357 Magnum 125 grain jacketed soft point. A lot of people seem to be using it to describe the accuracy of the weapons which throws me off a bit.
-
As long as the throwing is more ARMA 3 than 2.

Yes... that would probably be the problem... for the Mosin and M4 I would set it to 200m. For the SKS maybe 100m. This only matters for headshots though, if you are only aiming at the body I would leave it at 200 or 300 for any of these.
-
Because official "battlesight zero" for the Mosin, SKS and M4 is all 300 meters. If you are zeroed for 300m with an M4 you are also zeroed for 25m anyways which is why they call it a 25/300 meter zero. The standard sights on all of these don't have a setting that reads "50" anyways so they should remove that option. And "50" is unnecessary since you will do just as well when set to "100" or "200". Furthermore a zero at 50 meters does not seem to work the same in real life as the bullets appears to start dropping below the line of sight immediately after 50 meters.
