Strange thing is that the best pistol seems to have the most common magazines... sometimes I've found more FNX mags than I could even use... and in the same span not a single mag for any of the other pistols...

Well, the suppressor increases the accuracy which is always a plus. They don't need to work exactly like their real-world counterparts. ;)

That's just Soviet figures, you can't compare with M4 because Soviets never rated M4, compare the AK74 and AKM instead. AKM 350m chest 525m running figure AK74 440m chest 625m running figure Why does AK74 have longer effective range? What is the difference between these two weapons? Answer, AK74 shoots bullets at higher velocity (900 m/s vs 715 m/s). M4 Carbine is 884-905 m/s. AKM is clearly shorter range than M4. Trajectory of AKM, cm above/below line of sight: 100m = +25 cm 200m = +30 cm 300m = ZERO 400m = -77 cm 500m = -218 cm Trajectory of M4, cm above/below line of sight: 100m = +13 cm 200m = +17 cm 300m = ZERO 400m = -45 cm 500m = -127 cm Also I will compare AK74, as you can see - very similar to M4 Carbine! Trajectory of AK74, cm above/below line of sight: 100m = +13 cm 200m = +16 cm 300m = ZERO 400m = -43 cm 500m = -120 cm

Yes it's all in there, but you need a DePBO tool and a tool to debinarize config.bin.

You were in the firestation, apparently the stairs are buggy. Your legs only fractured because they took damage, so your pants and the items of course also take damage. Happened to me before in the middle of nowhere.
-
If you're dead you shouldn't be hearing or seeing anything whatsoever, it should be a black screen with "you are dead". In most cases you shouldn't die immediately though. For example if you get shot by a sniper you should collapse and bleed out or something.
-
You can run for over 4000 seconds after spawning. This is enough time to get across the entire map and then some.

I want to practice some sniping with my SKS... any ideas?

> 1140m -
Not true unless they've altered the engine, at 800m Mosin should do about 46% of initial damage but this appears to be still enough to kill the unclothed freshspawn in one shot, should be the same damage as SKS at 100m. At 50m the 10/22 does about 90% of initial damage so they wouldn't notice any difference.

I've heard tell of a wildman who lives in the woods surrounding the mountain although the most anyone has seen is eye-like glints from the deep in the darkness.
-
It's not an elephant rifle, the largest caliber it comes in is 9,3x74R.

Well, those dimensions I posted are for an MP5K without any stock whatsoever  it's going to take up most of the room in that bag folded or not. It wouldn't fit inside the high-capacity vest in real life either since it's divided into many smaller pockets.
-
Dimensions don't make much sense right now. Look at it from another way and you see AKM is 6x3 slots. AKM is 34.6" by 10.4". So compared MP5K should be [(12.8/34.6)*6] by [(8.3/10.4)*3] = 2x2 slots. But that makes no sense, should compare item size and backpack capacity to create sizes. 4x3, it fits into the tiny Taloon backpack and leaves 13 slots free, also fits inside of a high-capacity vest. I see no reason why it should be any smaller!
-
According to Amazon the dimensions of the "Taloon" backpack are 21" tall x 10" wide which DayZ turns into 5x5 slots. An MP5K is 12.8" x 8.3" inches. So based on that it should take up about [(12.8/20)*5]x[(8.3/10)*5] =~ 3x4 slots. Which it does.

How can you change the Video settings without ENTERING the game?

It should look like this IMO: M4A1: Weapon: RARE Magazines: RARE Ammunition: RARE Optics: COMMON - MAY OFTEN SPAWN ON WEAPON -range -accuracy -recoil AKM: Weapon: COMMON Magazines: COMMON Ammunition: COMMON Optics: RARE -reliability -barrier penetration AKM and its magazines should be common by comparison to M4A1 and its magazines.

The AKM is fully automatic only.

"Schadenfreude Island", also known as "Debug Island", is a small, barren landmass roughly 11 kilometers off the coast of Chernarus. It is approximately 285 m long, 130 m wide, and 25 m above sea level at its highest point (925x427x82 ft). The island is located 11 kilometers off the coast Island profile A 2012 incident where players in a helicopter marooned an unsuspecting fresh spawn is the most infamous chapter in the island's history, thanks to the Youtube video being picked up by gaming site Kotaku (said video is where it was first dubbed "Schadenfreude Island"). As far as I was aware the island had been totally unexplored in standalone - over 6 months since release and nobody had set foot on it. I wanted to be the first. This character's been alive for a month now so I didn't want to swim out if it wasn't feasible to get back. I checked it out in the ARMA 2 editor to get the compass headings and calculated it would take 2 hours 8 minutes to swim to the island (one way), which would consume 64% of my water supply, so I packed 3 full canteens in the Matryoshka protector cases I took from a sniper a couple weeks ago. After that I spent a session just gorging until I had about 18 hours worth of energy stored, then stopped by the water pump in Kamyshovo to fill my character's water levels to 100%. Ready to set off. Not eating that rice because [a] I'm full and it means -1000 water. No, I didn't paint that Mosin. The first step in the voyage, the short swim to Skalisty Island I wonder what lays out there... (no I don't. I already know full well.) Checking my heading. Goodbye land! Goodbye sun! Sunset. When swimming at night there are some graphical oddities. So how deep is the water along this path? For the most part it seems to average about 100 meters (328 feet), but at the deepest point it reaches a depth of 182 meters (597 feet), which is about 6 Devil's Castles or 3-2/3 Cherno sniper towers. If the water suddenly disappeared it would take over 6-1/2 seconds to hit the seafloor. Anyways, continuing on... Looks like an underwater mountain. It is an underwater mountain! Land ho! Finally... I think a celebration is in order. Suck it, ocean. I claim this land in the name of Canada! This is the third sunset since this voyage began. Time to head back - after making sure to drink my 3 canteens. The sun is annoying when you're on land, but nice when you're in the middle of the ocean. After another two hours - hello Skalisty! Back on the mainland dealing with my thirsty status. No gear was lost on this voyage. Turns out your weapons, magazines, and backpacks all drop off while swimming, but if you reach dry land they pop back on again, same if you exit the game or log out. Spending over four hours in the water didn't ruin any of my gear either. I found this journey was more than worthwhile, but I suspect the majority of players will want to wait for boats...

Nah, not banned, they just don't have a need for them. The last new US flamethrower came out in 1956... Soviet 1968... who uses flamethrowers these days? Sure there's a couple but can't think of any armies offhand. They have thermobaric rocket launchers and laser-guided airstrikes and such...

Yep, and you can't see it clearly without tilting your head, which makes it pretty useless in normal view. Helix2000 suggested rotating by pressing "end" and "delete" while inspecting it, works far better.

sawn off .22 sporter poll ...should we be able to
-Gews- replied to slippery gypsy's topic in General Discussion
If you can saw off one rifle you have to be able to saw off every other rifle otherwise it makes little sense. Too much for too little.
