  1. I don't like this "dynamic" reticle behaviour. I see zero reasons the reticle should display the sway of your weapon.

    The thread title is "Russian vehicles" and not "vehicles in Russia" so maybe the Toyota is off-topic. But Chernarus isn't Russia, and in ARMA 2 the Chedaki used the Hilux as technicals. Kia and Hyundai have been very popular, both were outselling Lada in 2014. Volkswagen, Chevy, Ford, etc, all there...     Modding Support?

    It will probably be much like ARMA series. Right now the stuff is still packed in .pbo and in same old ARMA formats. If it was allowed you could make some addons right now with the same modding tools for ARMA. It's not a new engine made from scratch, it's a evolution of RV. As for EnScript, why would it be "sealed off"?

    The accuracy was: Iron sights = 3.60" (at 100 yards) PU scope = 3.24" LR scope = 2.70" Iron sights + comp = 2.70" PU scope = 3.24" = 2.34" LR scope + comp = 1.80" It's acceptable values except for the effects of that stupid compensator. One could argue it's slightly too inaccurate or the opposite but there are millions of Mosins all different and you wouldn't notice the effects in-game anyways. And generally speaking the dispersion values for most weapons are now better here than in ArmA 2. Remember the Mosin was 9" @ 100 yd when first introduced (and zero dispersion with comp).

    No-compromise brutal niche game, eh? Well, on this 0.55 I've seen a lot of people on the forums and Reddit talking about how Bohemia shouldn't cater to the majority, the game is meant to be tough, DayZ is an anti-game, the people who don't like it don't belong here anyways, if you can't hack it in 0.55 then maybe you should try H1Z1, etc. But when the topic was 1PP vs 3PP then I've seen many of the very same people saying Bohemia shouldn't cater to an "elite" minority of 1PP players, that the great majority of players prefer 3PP, that "you have your own servers", "don't try to force your play style on other people", "let them play how they want", etc. Seems a bit hypocritical to me!

    If they made loot more abundant and survival easier then maybe there would be only a couple hundred "whiners" gone instead of the presumed thousands, and I'm sure they would attract more new players as well. So... what's the issue?

    There will be a limited amount of weapons with limited rarity. Okay, how about an example: Blaser BB97, Rossi R92, Colt Python, derringer. All of which could be found in gun stores and private hands in various European countries. But add those all in and the end result is not "authentic", as can be seen now. If they're going to add weapons they should have all have a well thought out and reasonable backstory and should be common or generic examples since they will be spawning thousands upon thousands of times. But many people don't mind, so...

    I've got convinced to play 1pp more.

    The camera actually seems to move around more in 1pp. Compare the two, as you run you may notice it sway from side to side in 1pp.

    Devil's advocate here: the majority of players prefer easier loot. Members of the forums and posters on r/dayz are not representative of the average customer. Check the Steam charts and see how player numbers are down since 0.55: So if the majority of players prefer more abundant loot, why should they keep the loot scarce and the difficulty high to please a minority?

    Better Bows

    1) improvised bows should be inaccurate. However it's true it doesn't feel right. 2) bows are not silent, if you want a quieter bow you need these. The bow doesn't seem loud to me to start with and it has such a short effective range you would hear it from any distance but that noise the arrows make is annoying. 3) have you used it? It's already more than powerful enough.

    First Person Publics

    The most successful 1PP servers seem to be the ones with their players making posts on Reddit and elsewhere which builds promo and a sense of community. If you want to gain or maintain population on 1PP it seems you have to work for it.

    ArmA 3 keeps "hipfire" under control despite having a crosshair. DayZ should adopt this as well.

    I don't like the new crosshairs. I think it's more useful for 'hipfire' when you're moving, out of breath or using shotguns, which happens to cover many situations in which one would shoot without aiming down sights. I would prefer if it stayed still in the center of the screen whether you raised your weapon or not.

    Swords, Maces, rarity vs function

    My point is that it can't compete with axes or sledgehammers for damage and that more than a few everyday objects will have the same end result if you give someone a good bop on the head. I've seen people complain the mace is not equal to the sword or fire axe. If you want to kill someone with a mace you should have to hit their head, otherwise it should take more than a few swings.

    I wanted to check what the in-game ballistics of this round should be. Here are the rough dimensions of the sniper projectile, kinda sorta: It seems to me airFriction of around -0.00037 is appropriate. So if you were zeroed for 300 meters you'd be 1.5 m high at 150 and down 1.2 m at 350.

    Canada. Those rifles are Europe-only versions that look tailored to driven hunts. You can see the difference between continents, go to Browning's North American site and observe that none of their BARs are shown offered with iron sights and most models are black or camouflage synthetic... the polar opposite on their European site.
