Base damage = hit² From memory: Right now the strongest weapon per projectile is the crossbow at hit=14. The weapons with the most potential damage per shot (11 projectiles) are the shotguns. FAL puts out the most potential damage over 2 seconds with 20-rd mags, hit=12 and a max fire rate of 10 rd/sec. Winchester is hit=12. More airFriction means slightly less damage at range than SVD/Mosin. 'Slightly' meaning you can't tell the difference.

Car became extremely slidey driving along the dirt paths and felt like unintended acceleration. Not to mention... Also new ground clutter makes driving through certain forests very annoying. Hit fallen tree... back up... move forward... repeat... not that that's necessarily a negative.

CTD as I was driving my truck. Coasted into a tree at speed... totaled. No worries, found someone's crashed hatchback and wheels to repair it near Sinistok. 10 minutes later things get wacky and the hatchback warps straight into a tree and is totaled as well... Even so the hit box did seem a bit large. Also the couple times I tried I was unable to get close enough to receive an action menu on them.

Heard some gunfire in Solnichniy, saw this survivor standing over something in a field. Followed her for 27 minutes... she never once looked behind herself. More wacky colours:

Hm. I almost always want something in my hands. Usually a weapon. And DayZ automatically removes and replaces my weapon if I need to use another item, so I guess the only time I'd use that key would be... picking apples... stones... getting into a vehicle... not a lot of things. Also when double-carrying it of course just drops it.

Yep, I used one mouse button for 'zoom out (toggle)' and another for toggling freelook. Wasn't able to add them manually either. At least I was able to get rid of the unlisted 'keyMoveItemFromHandsToInventory'... not sure why we needed a specific key for that...

Can't do 'hold key' either. Used to have 'hold breath' on spacebar, but now that lowers the weapon even while aiming down sights. Update also made 'H' remove my weapon from hands, and this command is unlisted in configuration, which is annoying as "Alt+H" is my screenshot bind and now I have to go look up the DIK code and remove it from my .DayZProfile again... or in this case .DayZProfile.062...

Due to heavy rains and freezing temperatures, I was making a fireplace and fire drill when I noticed smoke coming from a nearby chimney. Soon the smoke stopped and a survivor ran out the door. I lost sight of her but assumed she was looking for firewood. A few minutes later the warehouse on the other side of town lit up... No need to start my own fire after all, and she had ammo for my gun too.

There are a few out there, but they won't last long on actual RP servers and it doesn't really count as RP if you only talk with bullets.

Check box filter in server browser. PU scope looked alright in hand (apart from incorrect zoom) but didn't look very good when I put it on my SKS. A visible seam down the length of the centre post and some faint horizontal line at the tip. Truck didn't last long. Night seems darker than 0.61. Made it to the famous castle. Defenders have a big advantage as attackers can't aim up...

Switched server and boom, big difference in performance. Real low frames. And they did not improve. Switched to a German server, back to good frames. You paste the link, auto-embed. Needs the file extension.

4/27 servers 1PP, none NA? Anyways: not enough sway now. Been running for a long time and after stopping for a few seconds a standing 100 m+ headshot would be simple. After a bit more time there's almost no sway at all. Bad change. Also noticed the black zeds. Keep pressing 'M'. I didn't notice a big difference in frames so far, but I don't run a counter usually.

The benefit depends on how hard it is for other players to break into or destroy your base. Some of the solutions you see in other games or mods kind of clash with DayZ mantra of 'no safe space'. I don't know about building them, but I'm looking forward to raiding and camping them.

Too old to be a heli crash and military base spawn. From ARMA 2 lore, they could make some kind of NAPA caches where it could be sometimes found, or just a very rare civilian spawn. They main issue is that they don't seem to like adding new types of ammunition. I'd rather not see 9mm PPSh and TT. Squad added a PPSh with stick mag (to some complaints). Fun to use anyways.

I don't have 'WindowedMode' at all (Windowed=0). Try setting both your WinX and WinY to '0', IIRC those values caused some problem for me. I also notice your Render_W and Render_H are twice your resolution, forget if that was fixed but you might want those equal.

I had that problem but I forget what I did to fix it. Maybe post your DayZ.cfg?

Still not like the mod, which OP is comparing to. So many locations now, much harder to find players. They could actually be inside a building. Wow! The zombie radar isn't nearly as effective, vehicles are rarer and take far longer to repair, you can fashion a leg-fixer anywhere, and you don't need to go to NWAF and enter one of only two barracks to find various specific weapons. He has a point.
