Wiki says the only Army who uses the Barrett M99 is... Bangladesh. I don't think they'd be common in Chernarus, heck, there probably wouldn't be a single one anywhere in the entire country. That's the only problem I see with that suggestion, otherwise it seems A-okay. I hope we get some actual Lapuas in the game, too, since the US is considering .338 for its PSR which would replace existing .300 and 7.62 systems, the UK has already switched to .338, and Canada has also switched to .338 (C14 Timberwolf). Edit: and of course Finland, where it all started. :lol: The L115 from Operation Arrowhead just recycles the .50 cal damage values so it's basically just a .50, which sucks, and it has non-functional mildots, so I wouldn't exactly want to see it in the game until those issues are fixed... -
Hmmm, I don't mind this (unlike random jumping). It worked pretty well without looking silly in the Splinter Cell games. Sam Fishers might want to take off their backpacks if they're full of heavy supplies before trying to grab onto stuff though.

Try this: get up and jump in the air. Seriously, try it. Why would anyone do that unless they were playing basketball? Random jumping doesn't belong in DayZ because [A] there's absolutely no reason to do it and it will likely be abused and immersion-breaking. We have the vault animation which is a form of jumping, all they need to do is make it more fluid. No one vaults in combat but I can easily see people hopping around like in every other game with jumping. There's a reason Bohemia never added jumping to ArmA!

----NO---- JUMPING It would make combat stupid and it just looks dumb. I've seen videos of WarZ and people hop around in combat making little "houp! houp!" sounds like retarded frogs. Jumping is fine for games which are not supposed to be realistic, but it doesn't belong in DayZ or realistic milsims. All they need to do is speed up the vault animation so it is faster and smoother, no one pauses that long to hop over something.

Towing would be fine, but with the following rules: 1. You need a tow rope or similar to tow something 2. Small cars can't tow big cars, Ladas can't tow Urals, bicycles can't tow anything, keep it somewhat realistic 3. Only allow one car to be towed behind you 4. Towing greatly effects acceleration and responsiveness 5. Better towing animations, no more cars stuck halfway into other cars like in Wasteland

I honestly don't know how taxing they would be, but I know that it would cause some degree of performance hit and I think it's an unnecessary detail, so for those reasons I can't say I support this. If it would magically have no effect, then by all means, but not as it currently stands. Counterstrike can handle that because isn't nearly as taxing as ArmA, and the map is nowhere near the size of Chernarus. I honestly don't think anyone would be looking for shell casings on a map that is over 200 square kilometers. Players would be long gone by the time you found any, and wouldn't it be easier to try to spot a 6 foot tall man than his little two-inch casings? -

I agree with the Remington 700, but I'd prefer it in .300 Win Mag as that's way more common than .300 RUM. I agree the AS50 is kind of stupid and immersion-breaking, however no sniper rifle should require a headshot to kill a healthy player like they do now. The whole Western military backstory of DayZ was only designed to fit in with ArmA and all the ArmA weapons. -
She also disables your Bandicam / Fraps / Steam / etc! Shot to the head.

Ehhh, that would be cool, I would prefer the FFP scopes to make ranging easier. I doubt they're going to add in dozens of scope and reticle variants though. An important thing they need to fix is making sure the scopes actually work. I picked up a new G36 and it has a little ranging scale which works at 200m, but is off a bit at 400m, and the 600m and 800m scales don't work at all. Also the reticle on that scope has three crosshairs, but they don't actually correspond to any useful ranges and you have to aim in-between, which is annoying. The mil dots on the AS50 don't work either, so technically they're not even mil dots. I think I didn't make my point clear. :P On an actual scope you can look and clearly see where you've set the turrets to (eg 25 MOA of elevation). I want to have some on-screen indicator to see what adjustments I'm making to my scope in MOA, mils, etc. I didn't mean having all the ranges clearly labeled as that would just send us back to the "Easy Sniping" problem.

I don't fully understand the suggestion, I kinda get it but not quite... I'd be okay with switching the zeroing from "100m, 200m, 300m" to elevation adjustments in MOA, mils, or clicks like on a PSO-1, but there would have to be an on-screen indicator of how much elevation you have adjusted it to. Wind would be nice too, but wind would have to be in effect for all weapons, not just sniper rifles. Some scopes and adjustable sights may simply have the ranges labeled for ease of use and those should continue to use the "100m, 200m, 300m, etc" form of adjustment.

I hope they fix the non-functional ladders so I can climb right to the top of it, just for shits and giggles. Literally, it would be cool to poop from there. Anyways has anyone ever encountered the mysterious Silent Sarah? It's said she waits by the road to Solnichniy, weaponless, for friendly survivors to come along and offer her help. When they do, she stays motionless and silent, merely turning her blank face in their direction until they become frustrated and decide to either leave or shoot her. If they leave, they leave, but if they decide to shoot her, they are instantly killed by a single shot from nowhere and their body and gear disappears along with Silent Sarah. No shit, that actually happened to me. Creepiest thing ever.

Most people aren't going to take poo-poo seriously. Krkaskjhdakjshsj I can't hold it in... I don't care about the poop stuff, I don't think it needs to be in the Standalone but as long as it isn't stupid I... well, I'll just wait and see. Or wait and crap. -
There is no standard SVD as of 1.7.5.1... they only added in the M40A3. It really makes no sense, there should be SVDs or SVD-alikes all over the place compared to the amount of M40A3s or M107s there would be in a former Soviet republic...

Heh, gotta disagree with you there. Clicking "auto-hover" and pressing Q and W isn't that hard if you ask me. If you have several commands to learn just to take off many people tend to throw their hands in the air and give up. Adding in realism is not balancing. It can have a balancing effect, and that is a good thing. Not just anyone can hop into a helicopter and understand what this means: -
And add in a normal SVD with a higher spawn rate than the camo one... why are SVDs so rare in Chernarus?

Agreed, add, not replace. Toks are cool. The cartridge is a bit strange though, a small bullet at a fast velocity... you have the big bore people saying it's fairly ineffective and you have the high velocity people saying it's quite potent. I think if they introduce it they should keep the damage the same as a 9mm, the 7.62x25, although small, really punches through stuff.
