Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. I don't even bother picking up that garbage anymore.
-
Yup, that is also incorporated in Mount & Blade, although it's hard to do (it's gonna be extremely difficult to block some guy going apeshit on your dome with a hatchet in real life, too).

Not that simple. Hitpoint damage is flawed though.
-
Yeah, it's dumb that I prefer a weapon I seem to do much better with. Sometimes I choose a worse weapon to challenge myself, or because I like it in real life. Who cares if I die anyways? It's a freakin' game, I lose absolutely nothing by death! I have nothing more to say here. As you were.
-
Actually it can be fun, why the hell would someone buy a muzzle-loading musket instead of an AR-15? Oh wait, they must be dumb. Some guns are better than others, it seems to me like you want all the weapons to be artificially balanced or simply removed if they aren't all equally as good as each other.
-
Given the current damage system it doesn't really matter if it hits their eye vs their forehead... The sights do not line up fine, the front blade is too low and to the left. It should line up with the rear sight and be centered.
-
They are definitely flawed, they don't line up correctly at all. Seems like some modeller at Bohemia had the "weird disability" with the 1911's sights, not me.
-
And the 1911's iron sights are horribly flawed. Dispersion might be the same, but I tried them in the editor and for whatever reason I consistently did much much much better with the revolver, so I prefer the revolver. And I suppose that answers your original question, "So what is the point (besides variety) of having the revolver and M9 in DayZ?" Personal preference.
-
All I know is that I can't hit a barn door with the 1911 and I can make a head shot on a standing target at 50-75m with the revolver. (High as a kite)
-
Because some guns are just better than others and humans like variety. Personally I'd take a revolver over a 1911 because I can at least hit stuff with it, and zombies need headshots. The 1911 is the gimped one, in my opinion...
-
-grab what you need and head North -don't go to airfields -be sneaky and observant -learn to avoid zombies

Adding thermal anything would be terrible. I'm sure there are loads of multi-thousand-dollar thermal binoculars in countries like Chernarus where everyone is driving 25-year old Soviet cars and the largest city is the size of a small town. This is an even worse suggestion... any thermal added should have real-life magnification and capabilities. Nerfing things simply for gameplay reasons is bad - if they need to be nerfed, don't add them in the first place.

I have no idea. Some of my lives tended to be fairly long as I, not knowing the map, would happily march off into the wilderness and die of starvation.

I once knew a guy who ate his Siamese fighting fish. Sad times. All hackers are bad!

I would expect an opinion like that from someone who only plays musical games.

All hackers are bad, whether they be Chinese or preteens.

DayZ standalone more weapon camos sights grips idea
-Gews- replied to exomonkeyman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
*So many weapons threads* *Time to post my thoughts for 1000th time* I honestly don't want to see too many guns with 1913 rails, red dot sights, laser designators, flashlights, vertical fore grips and all that jazz. They are prolific in certain militaries and in the US, but I doubt they would be in Chernarus. On the subject of guns, there is plenty of criminal activity in Eastern Europe, guns are not uncommon. Look at these statistics out of the Ukraine: So, breaking that down: 2 machine guns 4 grenade launchers 40 assault rifles 176 civilian rifles 250 pistols 426 grenades 608 cut-down shotguns 738 kilograms of explosives 1500 home-made weapons Not many assault rifles or machine guns, lots of home-made guns, and a fair amount of pistols and rifles. I'm assuming most of those assault rifles would be of the AK family. Note that these are just the illegal pistols and rifles, there are also going to be a large amount of legal ones depending on the country's gun laws. This is more of an anecdote since they can't actually know how many illegal weapons there are in total, but it's still kind of useful. Obviously in a war zone military weapons are going to be more common, so the same could hold true for a zombie apocalypse. Chernarus probably isn't as advanced as the Ukraine so would have less control over firearms trafficking. Croatians, Serbians, Albanians, and Bosnians have seized guns from abandoned military bases or corrupt contacts. I don't even know what the point of that was  I'm just trying to say typical North and Eastern European illicit weapons look like these: And not like these: And that brings us to the issue of FUN. Fun is important, and the way ArmA is now kind of spoils the fun factor for many weapons. You don't get a good "feel" of a gun's real-life power with the default sounds, wounding system and impact effects. You can have fun shooting a bolt-action 22 in real life, but in ArmA (most games really) it would be boring as all hell. People might not complain about having more civilian weapons if it felt awesome to use them. -
I like the DMR better than the M24, some people will call it a noobtube but you can hit out to 800 fairly easily, and even out to 1000 if you have a good opportunity, plus you have lots of ammo. I think it's better for lone wolves because you don't always have the opportunity to choose when and where you fight, unlike campers or those rolling in clans.

gore and dismemberment and sewing back on limbs

This is the kind of stuff ArmA 3 needs. -
being able to paint and customize colour of weapons and clothing
-Gews- replied to yozer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If I could change the colour of my clothes I might go with a DayGlo pink outfit just to see how many people would shoot at me. Would make for an action-packed experience. -
AllowDammage false? Haaaaaaaack. Edit: Looks like a dance hack, copy and paste the text into Google. Edit: Actually you should talk to someone that has a fucking clue, I don't know, gotcha antihack says it isn't.... Edit: http://forum.gotcha-...x.php?topic=484
