This. Jams should be rare if you perform basic maintenance. Rifles shouldn't be jamming all over the place, look at the stories of how much abuse and neglect AKs can take. I hope they implement it somewhat realistically.

Well not one made of 3D printer plastic... the newer 3D printed versions are getting about 80 shots though.

Polymer guns aren't "less reliable"...

I want urinals like these: Laughter while you pee!

I want the health system redone to be a lot more realistic. I think after being hit there should be a minimum time period before you can simply fix broken legs or stop bleeding. Keep the actual firefight and immediate aftermath realistic as possible, if they survive that then allow them to fix their legs, etc. I disagree with this part, if a 7.62 blows apart your heart or goes through both lungs or severs your spine, you're gonna die. There should be more hitboxes and randomness introduced for body shots. There shouldn't be "death rays" killing by hitting your foot like the AS50.

Implement rabbit starvation, bunnies are OP.

You dance logged? For shame! You probably won't lose your items. You can stop dancing by changing your weapon, by the way, but it's best to get off the server immediately.

Server Admin messing with me? Hacker?
-Gews- replied to BennyTiberius's topic in New Player Discussion
IMO logging after a mere 30 seconds (in this situation) is combat logging, whether the timer says so or not. Like TheDesigner said, it's still logging off to avoid death and it impacts the other player's game in a negative way. He was trapped in the fire tower and essentially "teleported" himself out of the game. That's what he should have done if he absolutely had to leave, run a few hundred meters away, hide in a tree and log. -
How about once you die, your CD key is banned and you have to purchase the entire game again?
-
I guess if you just got the game you might need more tips... -when you spawn go to a city and loot the supermarket for supplies, then the hospital for morphine and antibiotics -then run North and loot deerstands I never stay near the coast.

I've eaten "thousand year eggs" but I wouldn't go near a 12-year old faggot. (I might go near a 12-year old Jimmy Dean Delights: Bacon, Egg, and Cheese, though)

Like Brave.arse said, they're technically just infected humans, so there shouldn't be mutants or giant demons or flying baby heads like in Doom or House of the Dead. Does that mean they shouldn't be challenging? No... in my opinion they're not enough of a threat, they're laughably easy to avoid. It annoys me when people say stuff along the lines of "zombies are eagle eyed! They're OP! They saw me crouching from almost 100m away!" Well, no shit, you can see them from several hundred meters, what are you complaining about? This is a freakin' zombie survival mod, the key word there is "zombie", people should be killed by zombies far more often. Zombies need to be much more dangerous, hopefully the standalone will provide that.

Admin Abuse is becoming a large problem.
-Gews- replied to Shrapnell's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
BetterDeadThanAbusiveAdmin. : ) -
I've seen them hacked in a few times in Wasteland, terrible pilots, couldn't hit anything smaller than, oh, a Stary Sobor, say. I also saw a flight of four AN-2 biplanes in DayZ... seemed mighty suspicious given the admin was one of the pilots. "Don't mind us, just a few badasses."

Jets are from hackers, the fire is a glitch related to helicopter crashes. I've been lucky enough not to see A-10s in DayZ but I've heard reports of them over side chat.

No they are not, the CZ is .308 Winchester (nope, not 9.3x62mm, that's false) and the Lee-Enfield is .303 British.

Jesus Christ, you think hacking is okay if it's "funny"? Let me voice my thoughts with a sassy Oprah gif.

Bahahaha, when I was a noob I didn't realize it had two zoom levels either... found my first AS50 and was like Had an GREAT opportunity to shoot a group of survivors but couldn't see shit before someone killed me and stole it.

Admin Abuse is becoming a large problem.
-Gews- replied to Shrapnell's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've been somewhat lucky, I've only been in a couple servers where I suspected admins of abuse. The only ArmA/DayZ server I've been in where admins were freely admitting to abuse was "Ultimate-RP Cherno Wasteland #1". Chatting in the Teamspeak about spawning in Scud launchers, teleporting their friends around and generally ruining the game for everyone else. Quit that directly after... -
Except the 28 Days Later zombies aren't dead, so their bodies wouldn't deform any more than a normal cannibal's. I'm glad we don't have this type of silly zombie...

The current hand-to-hand combat sucks, since it's just technically a modified shooting system, that's understandable. I was playing Mount and Blade and they have a pretty decent melee system. Not all the aspects of medieval sword combat can apply to DayZ, but some of the features I liked were: -directional attacks: you basically hold the left button and swing your mouse in the direction you want to hit. This allows you to swipe at someone's head, or their legs, or thrust at their stomach, etc. -blocking: same thing, except you click the right mouse button and move it in the correct direction. Pick the wrong direction and you don't block the attack. I'm not very good at that. Problems with this - DayZ uses the right mouse button to zoom in. Also, I don't think random survivors would have great parrying skills with a hatchet or other random objects, but some form of simplified skill-based blocking would be nice. I'd like to see some form of this in the Standalone instead of simply "click the button to repeat the same hit animation". It makes combat a lot more fun. Ideas? More suggestions?

Reloading shot shell, a practical approach to the zombie apocalypse
-Gews- replied to wolfsburg62's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The case should be "attempted realism"... most people don't reload, and most of the people who reload don't reload shotgun shells. You'd be EXTREMELY unlikely to find equipment for doing so, even here in the US where people can afford reloading equipment. In Chernarus they wouldn't have people firing thousands of rounds per year in trap or CAS competitions, they'd more likely have poor villagers firing a dozen rounds per year at deer and those dunderhead boars.
