    Hmm, I actually wouldn't mind if the CZ-75 replaced the M9 since a Czech weapon would fit the setting better than Italian / US Army firearms. But not the automatic variant... it would be so ridiculously rare you'd never see one... also I don't think it would be a very practical weapon. Perhaps a Stetchkin, there are various little Eastern European SMGs they could add too.
  3. We don't talk about that here... I don't know what this is either. Maybe not worth getting the mod right now - you decide that, some people don't have an extra 20 bucks to spare, while others are rolling in dough. I say it's still worth getting ArmA 2.
  4. I just skimmed but: No side channel in vanilla standalone, I hope... True, they need to have a good chance of catching careless survivors... they do in every single "running zombie" movie, why not in game? Agreed, people these days have no patience, I blame it on... people these days? Everything has to be now now now. Too distracted to wait something out... I know people who can't sit through a movie without texting... Doubt this will ever happen. I don't even think those rifles should be in the game, you wouldn't find USMC DMRs in Eastern Europe, makes little sense. The .50s are just... <_< I hope Bohemia doesn't put any .50 caliber weaponry in the standalone, it's stupid. Yup, and it should be more a bit more complicated than simply "clickclickclick", that's no fun and just results in both people dying most of the time. No bots, no bots. I started skimming faster near the end.

    I hope this isn't a Battlefield-style reviver. I can't see any other use for it, though - are they going to implement cardiac arrest? I doubt it. Hope DayZ standalone isn't going to cater to the casual crowd... This is where that thread "gore and dismemberment and sewing back on limbs" could come in handy... if someone's brains and face are splattered in little pulpy chunks all over the streets of Elektro, they ain't coming back.

    I dunno why it says that, players start out with 12,000 blood, so it should take 14 body shots to kill a perfectly-healthy player. The Makarov used to kill in 6 shots. Perhaps they meant zombies.

    Yeeeah, sure... Barrett+scope: 30 lbs 6 magazines: 24 lbs (yeah... a loaded mag is 4 lbs) To illustrate how ridiculous a choice that would be, let's see what else you could carry for the same weight... hmmm... how about five splitting mauls with 8-lb heads? Rag-tag survivors in real life wouldn't carry this over hill and dale. They don't need to. The military has Humvees and Strykers and helicopters and tanks and massive logistical support, they can bring whatever they want. Any person who would actually choose to bring an M107 as their "zombie and human survival" rifle would be crazy. Uh, nope, I have no problem with one-shot weapons. A .338 would be a one-shot weapon. In fact, any gun should be able to one-shot people, damage right now is very basic. Has nothing to do with balance or lethality - I believe the gun itself is out of place.

    You'd be surprised... Ever see those "store owner shoots back" videos? In many cases the thugs are tripping over themselves scrambling for the door.

    Your example isn't really clear... Just a warning, people are gonna come in here and shout "no skill trees!" I think player skill should be just that - player skill... not how long you've been playing or how many "levels" your character has. That would require making certain tasks a bit more difficult than simply clicking an option that says "Gut Animal", etc.

    The point of bandages is stopping myself from bleeding out when some goon takes a potshot at me with his double-barrel... True, but it's still a lot more forgiving than real life. The animation issue can't be easily fixed, unfortunately. Some animations do have a "cancel action" option.

    We have the PDW, true... but I'd rather see something that fits the Eastern European / former Soviet setting a bit better. Ya, the Skorpion. I wouldn't want to see the Skorpion in-game as it currently exists, it's just too weak... would take up to 24 shots to kill someone. The automatic variant of the CZ-75 is incredibly rare though - ya, it could be incredibly rare in the game too, but there's only so many weapons they can include, so I have to give priority to ones I'd be more likely to see IRL.

    Mmmmmmm perhaps, but they're pretty uncommon. If I was going to introduce a fully-automatic sidearm I would probably choose the vz.61 since that's in the game already (it needs to be bumped in damage though, easy task, it's ridiculously weak).

    Huh, most CZ75s aren't automatic. No auto variants, please. There's a two or three CZ75 variants in the Army of the Czech Republic DLC. It wouldn't be hard to port one. Why would it be weaker than an M9? Also, to eliminate a player: 12,000 divided by 889 = 14 shots

    Gah, we don't know Bohemia's pricing plans! I'd guess it would probably be a few dollars more expensive than ArmA 2 is right now. Meh, 10-15 dollars doesn't matter to me, give or take.

    There's technically bullet penetration for all firearms, but it's kind of low... using the modding tools and playing around with the values is fun, you can shoot people through concrete walls. That's strange, I read that bullets wouldn't go through bodies due to an engine limitation. Maybe someone found a way round that... I actually don't really have a problem with machine guns, they're all over Chechnya and other relatively lawless places. There are millions of them out there. I'm not sure why they picked the M240 over the PKM though.
