Yup, I'd say it does. I quite frequently go around shooting random people, so does almost everyone I know. Yeah I doubt it. -

Anyways now that it's all posted I don't see any problems with adding any of this stuff. Ballistic vests will be interesting (I'm assuming at least some form will be in). I hope they don't take the lazy route and go "minus 50% damage from all weapons" or some nonsense like that; any armour should give realistic levels of protection. Still not setting my expectations too high... from playing ArmA 3 Beta I can see that soldiers in 2035 don't seem to have body armor, and I'd expect ArmA 3 to be more concerned with that than DayZ... <_< Would be nice though.

Anyways if you put the word "tactical" in front of something, I'm probably not going to be a fan of it, but that's what a lot of people seem to like these days. Judging from the standalone's CZ75 with a large threaded muzzle, accessory rail and fibre-optic sights we'll probably be seeing a fair amount of "tactical" gear in it as well...

Objectively, the AS50 is far superior in every way: -damage -accuracy -range -recoil -magazine compatibility Subjectively it sounds like shit and whoever created the ammo, magazine and weapon configs was clearly incompetent.

Not according to the game: "When unconscious all damage is reduced to 50 blood for each hit zeds do no matter the part they hit." Baaaaad design decision, why would you be 10x more likely to survive when unconscious and being attacked? Really not a fan of that. Should be changed.

Either the howdah pistol or the CZ550. The CZ550 would be perfect if it was just a bit more accurate. And in .300 Win Mag for more punch.

Not sure why people would complain about the price (whatever it is), ArmA 3 Alpha cost me what, like $30, and I don't even play it. Don't most new console games cost like $60 and up? :huh: $9.99, 19.99, $24.99, $39.99 psssh, who cares?

Ehhh I don't like the idea: 1. Very hard to throw an axe, extremely hard to throw a machete. 2. Why not just walk 10 steps closer and hack them up instead of throwing away what is presumably your only weapon? Too fantasy for me... as far as I know throwing axes, etc, were pretty much only used if the person had multiple weapons and they were also expressly designed for that purpose.

For some reason reading through this thread makes me want to try using an MP5. I never use that gun. I don't even know why, just thought I'd mention. Also I suppose it's a fair point there's nothing much to do apart from take out other players, or team up with people to take out other players. The zombies aren't a challenge at the moment. On the other hand I'm not going to participate as the willing victim in a robbery or other roleplaying scenarios :huh: why would I? Sorry, I'm not a roleplayer, I don't like it. Next we'll see DayZ cosplay... -

I think it was Rocket who said he'd like players to have to keep track of bullets in a magazine instead of having an automatic counter on their screens. That will make things interesting if standalone turns out that way. -

Ehhh, I'm not a fan of allowing what some would call "easy mode" servers, at least for the first little while, for a few reasons. Mainly because when I go on DayZ Commander the amount of "vanilla" servers versus the stereotypical "spawn with sniper/1000 vehicle" type servers is very low. I think DayZ should concentrate on being a good game first and foremost. Allowing people to significantly change the entire thing can ruin the experience. On the other hand there's definitely a time and place for PvP "spawn with rifle" servers, as well as a demand for them - look how popular they are. Still, on balance it would be nice if everyone was given the same options. I don't want to see 3000 "spawn with rifle" servers and only 250 "vanilla standalone" servers when it launches. I also don't think things like (the default ArmA 2) crosshairs or player nametags have much of a place in DayZ or ArmA whatsoever. Tags especially. The game is more engaging without them... sure I usually play servers with crosshairs and sometimes even ones with tags, usually because they have a low ping and a lot of players. It would be nice if every server with a low ping and a lot of players didn't also have tags and crosshairs because they weren't presented as an option. -

This happened to me once, except with a machete. I ran around murdering zombies, then I saw a player run into a firehouse and tried it on him, too. Turned out he had a full-auto machine gun so we both died, but it was fun while it lasted.

True that I seriously doubt standalone will end up somehow looking WORSE than ArmA, I wouldn't worry about it.
