Create a fix? Would require testing the effect of different recoil arrays and that kind of stuff in-game... sure, if it's okay with you why not.
-
Well, like I said that is BIS' fault, nothing to do with the mod. I don't expect the mod team to create another ACE2, I just don't want them deliberately making things worse...
-
Wasn't in ArmA either so it's not the mod's fault, although they could have added it.
-
Of course. Unfortunately they chose to go with a COD-like solution.

R4Z0R49 commented Thanks for your input we will look over the configs when we get some time to do so. R4Z0R49closed the issue It's in God's hands now.

I hope there aren't any M14-based weapons at all.

It's the same thing as an M14 AIM. Using 1.8 logic you shouldn't be able to fire an M14 AIM more than twice per second. The fact it has a scope doesn't change mechanics of the weapon, it's a semi-automatic with a 20 round magazine - of course it's going to be useful in close and medium ranges, that's why it's semi-automatic in the first place (well, now it's a lever-action or something).
-
If they wanted to slow effective rate of fire they could have done so by tinkering with the recoil values, which allow for muzzle jump, kick back AND slow re-centering of the crosshairs. Changing cyclic rate of fire is not a solution.

Some Reasons Why I would like Offline SP In The Standalone.

I doubt most things would even work in ArmA 2 or 3... body armor, individual bullets, melee weapons, attachments, etc. -
Some Reasons Why I would like Offline SP In The Standalone.
-Gews- replied to King of kong's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I want offline SP just to test stuff out and compile statistics... ie, editor mode. I don't have much interest in "surviving" and doing the whole DayZ thing offline. (Do I actually expect to get a editor? Hell no. :|) -
Sometimes I think a fun experiment would be to make EVERY gun a 1HK weapon.

Don't think you can edit Chernarus without the unbinarized version. You can make your own map pretty much as large as you want but it might not be very detailed. Visitor 3 lets me enter grid size - 4096x4096, cell size = 1000m, that's 16777216 square kilometers, about the size of Russia. However it would just be completely flat if it loaded at all.

A .50 is not NFA, it's the same as any other rifle...
-
Anything that allows the player to control what happens during the fight/assassination is good (unlike the instant "takedowns" in a lot of shooters).
-
I still don't understand why a knife should get a "takedown"... why can't I do a Makarov takedown? A Mak or 1911 is more lethal than a knife. If the player wants to kill someone with a knife, they should have to act it out fully, not make a single click and have an automated process occur.
-
The AS50 can demolish buildings. It can take out a T72 main battle tank in 10 shots. It has the recoil of 5.56mm weapons. All of that is what I like to call "retarded as fuck". Then there's the fact that you wouldn't find $10000 rifles lying around in a poor, rural post-Soviet republic during a zombie apocalypse. If they add AS50s maybe they should also add a Ferrari 250 GTO and some big block muscle cars. It's about as "authentic". The fact these rifles are a one-shot kill shouldn't even be a consideration - including them in the official mod or standalone would just be a STUPID decision. Out.

I'm imagining what this would be like... Anyways an auto-run button has been suggested before, I guess it would be convenient when you want to aim your character in the direction of the NWAF and go do something else... but that kind of convenience is not something I think would be good for the game. I don't want to always see players on autopilot mindlessly jogging all over the place.
-
I'm not in favor of "takedowns". Stabbing someone isn't deadlier than shooting them so I don't see why it should have a special action. In fact it's fairly common to hear of people surviving multiple stab wounds... not as often with multiple gunshot wounds. If you want to kill someone with a knife it should be like any other weapon: 1. You should have to actually aim to get a "one shot kill" 2. It shouldn't be magically deadly Knife yes, CoD-style takedowns no.

It's too big.

For some time I've been worried about the standalone's muzzle flashes... That M4 must be firing 30mm...
-
Cos no .50s = no sniping from 1000m, unrealistically low damage :( In any case, if you can see someone's breath, you can also see their face, so unless these clouds are people-sized it won't help much. Agree with Katana - good idea for adding atmosphere to the in-game world, but I don't see a "tactical" use for it.

I heard of an incident where someone stabbed a friend to death over that kind of thing.
