Meh, as long as we are playing this mod we will always be playing an alpha test. If I remember correctly the stronger 1.7.7 zombies were also "nerfed" in the 1.7.7.1 hotfix...

How to do the Bandit / Hero System in Standalone

Dude, bad example! That entire game was broken so badly that it doesn't even exist under that name anymore. No safe zones, goes against the entire DayZ ethos. Yes, I agree there is a "problem" with the level of deathmatching right now, the mod lacks depth or long-term objectives. However I don't want my character wearing a mask (he's not Nacho Libre, no masks please) and the idea of safe zones is so repulsive to me that their inclusion would turn me off the standalone altogether. How to "prevent KoS": give players something else to do, something fun, encourage teaming up. I have no suggestions on what. Personally I will be KoSing in the standalone whatever happens, the chance of me teaming up with someone is perhaps 5% and I enjoy using the weapons on other players... -
Don't trust the Wiki too much, both guns use the exact same magazines, same damage. Make of this what you will... Yes, that kind of weaponry is perfectly fine and plausible, I remember in the mission "Razor Two" there is a small shootout between local resistance fighters and Chedaki in Staroye... resistance fighters have AKs and CZs, typical types of weapons one would expect, just some villagers gathering everything they have, as well as captured weapons... But imagine if the resistance fighters had M1As, quad-rail AR15s and G36s... that would be absurd! And for me, the same applies to DayZ, both mod and standalone. I hope there are absolutely zero M14s, 1866 Winchesters or M24s whenever standalone comes out.

Chernarus is not in the Czech Republic, this is evident from the Cyrillic signage - the Czech Republic uses the Latin alphabet. The terrain and certain things like vehicle selection is based on the Czech Republic, but nothing more. This was convenient since the area they were modelling was in BIS' backyard. The CDF did not use Czech weapons and vehicles, they used Soviet weapons and vehicles. AKM/SA58 do less than 60% of the M14's damage, at 400m they do less than 40%. AKM/SA58 both have much more recoil than the DMR (5-5 and 5-4 respectively, M14 has 3-3 recoil, the same as 5.56 weapons). M14 has less bullet drop, faster flight time, more accuracy, more power, less recoil, faster effective rate of fire (full auto is useless outside of very close range). I would like for them to remove all the M14s and DMRs and Mk 48 Mod 0s, etc. They are there only because people happen like them, not because they fit the setting whatsoever or because they are in any way plausible. I remember Scubaman3D posted this: However I somewhat disagree... -the Chernarus map is a very small area of a larger country, not all weapons in the entire country would be found in Chernarus - instead of looking at statistics for the entire Czech Republic, a more accurate method would be to look at statistics ONLY for the area Chernarus is based on. -although similar in terrain, Chernarus is not the Czech Republic. -Chernarus is rural and not a high-income area, people would not have tricked-out AR15s. Look at the villages, that type of weapon doesn't fit. I don't mind some Western weaponry but I still think this is a case of people wanting something specific (ie, many types of Western weapons), then finding various explanations to support that...

Perhaps some... but Willys jeeps? It's not 1944 anymore. As for the M939 trucks the Army and Marines are phasing them out in favor of the FMTVs and MTVRs which I assume they would send as first choices in the world's first and only "zombie" crisis...

Uh, no, no point. Too small, just a deathmatch. Since it's a deathmatch I don't see the point of adding all the useless survival elements, zombies and extra health from DayZ. However I do enjoy Wasteland Utes.

Shark attacks are relatively rare. Let's say super worst case scenario, 1000 per year. According to Google around 40% of the worlds population lives near the coast. World population 7 billion. So that would be 0.0114 attacks per hour worldwide, say 150 players on the server, say 50 swim out every hour, so that's a 0.0000000000000000007% chance of a player being attacked in an hour. Or round that to zero... However I do like the aircraft carrier idea. Like any carrier, it should have airplanes, I would love some Super Hornets with full payloads! Also perhaps the devs could add a functional Iowa class battleship? Maybe they got some back into active service, just the ticket for taking out zombie hordes. -
