    Lets talk about 22. lr

Its design... it was designed for target shooting and came out around 1887. "Absolutely destroy a human being" Yeah, no, any bullet to the vital areas will "absolutely destroy" a human being, a little 40-grain pill doesn't have any magical properties, yes it might bounce around once or twice inside a skull (or not) and it might veer off after entering a body, but a .357 or 9mm JHP doesn't have any need to bounce. If this thing was so instantly lethal it would make a great deer cartridge, but it's not, and compared to high-velocity centrefire rifle cartridges, even without expanding ammunition, yes, it is weak.

    Lets talk about 22. lr

It is relatively weak However relatively weak doesn't mean ineffective or harmless The only real advantage to using one for killing people would be because it's capable of being very quiet

    [SA]weapon poll

It would not be out of place... I would like to make a list of the most commonly found firearms in various Eastern European countries since it would be useful, I have never got around to it though.

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]

The Coriolis effect won't make any appreciable difference, not worth putting it in, we don't have artillery or 1,500-2,000 meter shots in DayZ. There's no point putting figety things in when the basics aren't correct, we don't even have anywhere near proper ballistics, or the means to approximate them, and people want to add things like the influence of humidity, or the earth's rotation before the basics are somewhat correct?

    Best Gunfigth?

I only had one two-sided gun fight so far. I saw a guy outside, he saw me inside, we both raised our M4s and started firing. A couple seconds later he ran to one side, I ran to the other side and shot him lots of times as he came around the other side of the building. He immediately combat logged. At least 100 rounds fired at each other, range 0-25 meters and I wasn't hit.

    [SA]weapon poll

I don't see a problem with any of these weapons, apart from the lever actions which are not popular nor commonly found in Europe, and of course the one which says "lol" beside it. Great models btw

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]

Just gotta say I find the polls kinda funny According to this poll, which has 168 votes, 90% of people want realistic instead of balanced weapons. But according to THIS one with 133 votes, about half of the players want Desert Eagles.

[...]\DayZ\Addons\weapons_firearms\DZ\weapons\firearms\Ruger1022\data :P Have a 452 Lux, they are indeed nice

    Lets talk about 22. lr

I like the 452 series rifles and I'd like to see one if the game has a second .22. The CZ should be more accurate. As people probably know, 10/22 is confirmed. Here's a crop from the texture.

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]

+1 Atmospheric changes aren't very important in-game. Changes that might matter in real life are inconsequential in the game for various reasons, in-game we don't typically care or even notice if a bullet is one or two inches higher or lower because we aren't aiming at inches, we only need to hit relatively large hitboxes. In short the changes would be almost unnoticeable, and since it doesn't matter much, no one would even bother about checking the atmospheric conditions before shooting. Right now we only really need wind, and more realistic scope adjustments would be nice. I'm doubtful the first will happen, and I feel sure enough to say that the second one won't happen...

    Some suggestions

Knives are really horrible though. I found one that first night and killed some zombies and a player with it... the thing took forever. If I'd known players were able to instantly Mike Tyson others with their bare fists, even those wearing helmets, I would have dropped it instantly and started punching instead... knives need a buff, fists need a nerf IMO.

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]

Don't knock it before you try it Oh, is that why sniping with ACE enabled is so much easier?

    Nemesis Arms Vanquish Rifle

So all the dozens of more reasonable choices simply thrown to the wayside then... this gun is most likely made by a couple random everyday dudes in a machine shop in California, and there aren't a lot of them. Makes so much sense we better make it the game's only sniper rifle.

    Nemesis Arms Vanquish Rifle

First off the rifle doesn't fit the setting; unrealistic. Second: I doubt there will be a lot of .338-08, .260 Remington, and 6.5 Creedmoor in Chernarus which makes it somewhat pointless.
  15. -Gews-

    shotguns

    Bahaha, that's it.
  16. -Gews-

Do you prefer Mosin or M4?

I'd rather have a Mosin and use a pistol when looting indoors. Which doesn't actually make all that much sense. I hope they improve the accuracy and damage of the M4 and make it one of the better weapons in the entire game. M4 should be coveted.
  17. -Gews-

    Desert Eagle

Not OP if properly represented, just out of place.

    Level of Weaponry Available (Poll)

It wouldn't be feasible to model "real" wind. It would be perfectly doable to have server-wide wind conditions that change every so often. We'd also need a way to gauge it. It's easy to calculate the supposed wind drift. Mosin bullet takes 0.52 seconds to travel 400 meters. In a vacuum it would take 0.43 seconds. With 10 km/h wind at 45° the drift would be 196.4 cm/s * 0.09s = 17.7 centimeters, which is about the width of a head. They just need to do it in real time and everything's good.
  19. -Gews-

    shotguns

What. It's the left one. Looks extra spready to me.
  20. -Gews-

    Level of Weaponry Available (Poll)

Honestly I kinda doubt we'll see anything like that... the game doesn't appear to be going for maximum realism right now, and I'm putting that extra kindly since it's Christmas.
  21. -Gews-

    Desert Eagle

Alright, you could find ammo for the .357 and .44 versions. But no gun, it would just be a few files sitting deep in the game folders forever unused.
  22. -Gews-

    Level of Weaponry Available (Poll)

I'm aware of that. But a lot of hunting scopes will just be zeroed to have a decent MPBR and left that way for the majority of shots. They are not intended for the 1000 yard line.
  23. -Gews-

    Desert Eagle

I'm all for it if they preserve the real rarity. Meaning no one will ever see one, or the ammunition for one. Ha.
  24. -Gews-

    Level of Weaponry Available (Poll)

That wouldn't be better, it would be ridiculous. I'd rather not see them at all. Anyways many hunting scopes don't have large military/target elevation turrets, ballistic reticles or mil dots. It's frequently just a simple duplex crosshair "zeroed" to a certain range and left there, not a long range sniping tool.

    shotguns

    Not a "1740" A combination gun
