I collect old computers and consoles like Amiga, C64, Atari and Sega. I like SW, LOTR and Harry Potter. Yeah, really. And zombies. I do NOT like vampires. No Buffy, no Dracula and never ever the Twilight-BS.

My last life story: Washed ashore, killed zombies, looted some food and weapons, survived 119 days, met the tractor of death, got killed. Woke up on the shore again.

Have you actually had a dream of DayZ?

Since playing DayZ (I haven't played Arma2 much before upgrading my GC) I often have my dreams set in the Arma-Engine... You know, the debug monitor, crosshairs, strange movement and always looking around like you do by moving your mouse around. Just too much DayZ these days.... ^_^
  2. Hmm, I always wanted the pistols to be deadlier in any game. No fun for me if I have to shoot someone eight times or more on close quarters to drop him. Unless it's a super-zombie or wears very heavy armor. I don't know if the developers of Arma had some kind of bullet accuracy chance/variety in their mind that randomizes the deadliness of weapons depending on where the bullets hit or not. Not that head-body-extremities-thing, I mean the chance of the bullet missing the targeted part even if you aimed at close quarters. With good luck or bad aiming some people survived four or more rounds to their body because it's only been minor flesh wounds to the sides of the body... But it's not fun in a game. I don't want to have to put at least eight rounds into my enemy with a silenced pistol. That would be ridiculous.

    Nvidia Graphics Cards

Both good choices! But you could also consider buying two slightly "older" cards and put them in SLI. This was always faster than buying a newer single GC. At least as I know.

    Wiping all tents/players/vehicles.

This is the problem many people have with most games they play. First time they play it's all new and unbelievably hard to master. They die often, respawn often, play more and finally get everything they wanted. They say it's one of the best games they ever played. Though, after playing a little more, they're getting bored. Nothing new, Got everything, seen everything - baah! Then the complaining starts: It's lame, it's too simple, make it harder, the map is too small, too many noobs etc... No matter what the developer(s) do, they can never make something without getting complaints about whatever. And to the OP: I don't care about 50. Cals. or other weapons spawning too much or not. You can one-shot-kill everyone around with a headshot, no matter what caliber or weapon you use. I agree, hackers are a pain in the arse, but as long as they just get them weapons, they are something i can handle with. And about gearing up yourself after restart in just a few minutes, it's in nearly EVERY game. You learn to know where to look and what to search. It's not annoying, it's useful. And there will never be a game that's always new, unknown and exciting for every time you restart, no matter how often. Every game will get boring at some time.

    Toolbox spawn rates

Yeah, nearly everytime I loot a town/village/whatever I find one of those yellow-blue toolboxes. I find them more often than higher grade weapons, backpacks or suits. And most time there is more than one entrance to a building that might not be blocked by fences. And IF there should be all entrances blocked, well, look for another place to loot. Or come back later. The people who built the blockades are likely to have a safe way out their camp without removing and rebuilding stuff everytime. The last weeks I played on different servers I only found a couple of buildings to be blocked by obstacles. A few months ago this was quite annoying. A time where you had to find a server with a free slot, but now I'm thankful for every sign of human life or player interactions.

    must have weapons

The AA12... Nah, I don't like it. Always reminds me of MW3. And I think it's not popular enough to make it to Chernarus. M4, M16, M249, AK-47 (and its variants), even some british and german weapons (Heckler und Koch!) are more likely to be found there. Okay, this is about what you would like to see... but I don't think this fits well enough. I do like the Halo assault rifle and the needler. But these will never happen to appear. Somehow we have to decide, more fun or more .... uh.... "historical" correctness? Don't know the right words yet. Either way, we might see one or the other weapon on private hive servers! So it's fun for everyone!

    must have weapons

Sadly it's not implemented in the mod. Yeah, there should be more eastern block weapons. I don't mean to see all the AK variants like in JA2 1.13 (AK101, 103, 104, 105 etc..) but some other weapons like RPK, Tokarev, SV-98 or even Ppsh-41. And Mosin Nagant or SKS Simonov instead of the british Lee. This could also be depending on the maps to play on. Soviet style map - mostly soviet weapons. European style map - mostly western equipment. Like the german map CELLE, where you could find the G36 (don't know if it's still in there...) .

    must have weapons

Even if it was already suggested somewhere else, I'd like to see the Saiga 12K ingame. Cool russian semi-auto shotgun with AK design.
  9. But there must be a reason why you're down in a cellar, aren't you? You ever wondered why your doors are locked? From the outside? :D
  10. But somehow it already explains why there are so few cars in drivable condition. Because the wrecks have already been salvaged for the most important parts, so just the wrecks still remain. Anyhow, a nice idea to scavange some wrecks. And really have a use for the crowbar. Edit: Added a line.
  11. #Sleepy -Why did you make a thread for THIS? SRSLY?? And be careful, you know, knives are not for children!
  12. Hi! I'd like to mention that I play on a Core2Quad at only 2,66 Ghz with 4 Gb RAM and a 560Ti. I have Vista 64bit and run the game on 1680x1050 (100% resolution). And DayZ runs fine with most things set to High, only AA is low or disabled. FPS in the woods or country side is 42 minimum and inside cities like Elektro it's still 38 minimum. BUT this depends on the server I play on. On some servers the framerate drops to 5 to 10. So the servers have much to do with the fps drop. I have seen that Arma 2 can run very differently on machines with almost the same specs. You can try to run the game with "-winxp", this gave me about 6 fps more on my old rig. So on newer ones this might be even more. And what about the framerate when not connected with a server? Try the editor and look at your framerate. Is it the same? (I mean something like offline and online testing) Edit: Do you know how high your CPU and GPU usage is while running Arma or DayZ? Edit 2: Rearranged the lines for better reading.

    READ NOW

I read it over and over and ooover again, but somehow I can't put it all together. The OP is so weird, like if the author was exposed too long to the dark powers of That Mountain.

    READ NOW

Really? Keeping your stuff after death? This means EVERYBODY keeps his equipment. The hackers wouldn't retire because "since they start since they loose their stuff and want it back" because they KEEP THEIR STUFF! Do you even understand by yourself what you wrote? I think not. Oh, and here's something for you, so make good use of it next time: , , , , , , , , , , and a few . . . . . . . . . . . . .

    Suicide

I hope not! In FarCry 2 you could at least shoot your buddy in the head when he was critically wounded. And in a few other games you can do suicide, even if there are no special animations to it...
