    Adding true horror to Dayz.

Fear is not my desire, I want creepy. I want a tingling sensation, I want to always feel like something is behind me.

    Adding true horror to Dayz.

The easiest way to make standalone INCREDIBLY creepy is to make the map more like Pripyat, Pripyat is one of the creepiest places on earth, I cannot wait for a mod that lets us play DayZ in Chernobyl/Pripyat DayZ: Shadow of Chernobyl

Genetic labs with mutants and notes explaining why the apocalypse happened for those interested in more than just loot. Experiment data, horribly mutated, and grotesque bodies in cryogenic chambers. The works, man made his own undoing, just as he always has.

Zed Improvement for the mod and maybe SA

Slow zombies are a bad idea for DayZ.
  5. The problem with that is there needs to be one of those in the world at any given time and make sure none of them have set spawn points and they are completely random, people will always metagame if you let them, if spawn points are COMPLETELY random and there isn't ONE note in the world at any given time refering to that specific stash it will just be camped all day long for loot and people will eventually learn loot spawn camp points
  6. I would really really prefer zombies to be an annoyance with other people being the true enemy. That's how it realistically happens, people are the monsters in a zombie apocalypse. But I DO like the idea of having notes around the environment, tucked in a cabinet somewhere. Maybe wills or last goodbyes or things like that. "We did not expect it to turn out this way. It was supposed to be an experiment, not the catalyst for the apocalypse. If it ends, if anyone finds this, we are sorry. We did not want this, we are so sorry. Doctors Mikhail Ivankovich and Aleksandr Lesnitsky" Imagine finding that note next to the dead bodies of two scientists who obviously killed themselves in some abandoned bunker in Chernarus. Atmosphere is everything to me, and that seems amazing.
  7. In late January 2013 the number station UVB-76, a Russian number station, transmitted a message in an unorthodox manner. Number stations transmit messages in the format [station ID] Number Number Word Number Number, this transmission broke the universal number station code by transmitting the message in a frantic tone. "Instruction has been announced. 135." After transmitting this broadcast three times, the station returned to it's normal broadcast tone. This can be translated literally to english. "Command 135 has been announced." Or "Command 135 initiated" A friend sent me that when I asked him if he knew anything about number stations, and specifically UVB 76, being a prepper and a nutter of equal measure to myself, he had some good creepy information for me to share.
  8. I think it would be quite a cool thing to have number stations and generally atmospheric creepy radio stations, the one that comes to mind is UVB-76 "The Buzzer", which is an old soviet station that broadcasts a continuous signal that is sometimes interrupted by people speaking in Russian. It could definitely add to the immersion to give players the option to tune into numbers stations and emergency broadcast frequencies, things like that. Just an idea.
  9. Good idea Death, maybe a five or six per server "Survivalist Shelter" spawn building? Maybe even one ultra survivalist shelter that's actually an underground bunker that's SUPER rare and doesn't even spawn on every server, but if you find one you have the option of trying to crack the passcode lock (That's if you even find it, imagine it being very very well hidden in the middle of the forest somewhere.) or blowing it up, obviously if you blow it up you can't live there, but imagine if you figured out the code and made that your home. You'd be the most set player in the game, and if some lucky bastard killed you the passcode to the door reset to some random number if it was still closed. All very rough ideas and potentially game breaking at that.
  10. I like that idea, but I'm also interested in a progression system for players, maybe base it off of something other than days survived, but I'd definitely be interested in it. The more you progress the better your starting gear is etc etc. Of course that could be really OP in hindsight but maybe for those players they have a set amount of "Spawn Points" to allocate for equipment and such, while new players just spawn vanilla. As for the prepping thing, I made an investment four years ago to have an apocalypse proof bunker. Once I get a bit more money I'm going to invest in a self sustaining farm. It's costed me most of my salary since I became an adult and I have to live like a college student. But it's gonna last me until I'm old an grey, it's a worthwhile investment in my mind to have a bunker that can withstand anything short of the earth splitting in two, as well as a way to generate power and food.
  11. As a Survivalist nut, I just want representation. Me and my bunker are people too! Well, maybe not the bunker.
  12. So my question is simple, what happens to people in Chernarus and int he DayZ standalone world who are hardcore survivalists and general overprepared people, think Burt from Tremors or the militia people in the USA, the people who if a zombie apocalypse happened they would have stockpiles of high end weaponry, food, supplies, generators, gps, everything. The most prepared among the most prepared. The people who would be military trained and ex military, all of these people, did they all die int he DayZ universe? Now I'm not suggesting every player have the choice to choose between being a naked civilian or a hardcore basement bunker survivalist, but at least acknowlege that not everyone is going to be completely unprepared for the apocalypse, plenty of people have bug out bags specifically designed for zombie apocalypses among other versions of the apocalypse. Not everyone in the world is a civilian either, ex military members in the DayZ universe should exist as well, maybe if players survive a certain amount of time from a civilian character they have the option to start as a 'Sunday Survivalist' or something like that, where they get basic survival gear, not even a better weapon is needed. I just want survivalists and prepper type people who would be prepared for the apocalypse represented in some meaningful way. http://imgur.com/Ttq...0hvu2xp,BM1ZwWj Images for reference.
