Try this: Run normal arma2 OA as if you were gonna play single-player. In the main menu go the expansions list. Check everything thing that says dayz, click ok, restart arma, load arma, exit. This works for me and most ppl i know. Hope this helps!

never said Dayz had anything to do with COD, lol. But, never new CODWAW had zed's gonna have to check that. Im sure there was some kinda zombie game from the 90's that was sorta UnderGround like DayZ. But i think COD & maybe even LFD made it a trend to base a game around.

As far as food/drinks, Chernarus for example has plenty of fresh water and lots of animals for meat and wood to cook them on. Maybe more rarity in matches and water bottles? Maybe in the standalone they could consider putting some medics in the lobby to chose from so it would give a more realistic feel to getting healed. Maybe you should try the 2017 mod. sound like its right up your alley, lol.
