Question no one has seemed to ask.

A silly little thought popped into my head.

If you eject from a car it keeps the engine running yeah?

So what if the pilot of a heli put the heli into Auto Hover and then pressed eject. Does the heli continue to hover till it runs out of fuel or gets shot down? Or does it fall from the sky straight away?

it falls.... common sense when u get out of a vehicle the engine shuts off sooo no engine = blades stop spinning

But I thought the 'eject' option kept it ruining in cars and trucks and the 'get out' option turned it off?

no it doesnt it actually shuts off as for the car thing a car wont dead stop if you throw it in neutral and turn off the engine while ur going 60 mph down the road itll keep its momentum until it runs out. if nothings holding the gas pedal then itll slow up until it finally stops

I don't believe that it stays in the air if you eject.

But, if you land it and then eject, the engine will stay running.

Ejecting doesn't turn the car off. It keeps the engine running, regardless if you eject whilst moving as opposed to ejecting whilst stationary.

So much fail in one thread, people spreading lies. What inception said is true although i don't know if it will stay in the air, you should check in editor.

Here's an idea... TRY IT.. SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

Then come back with the answer and you will be rewarded with my beans.

Thought I remember hearing that a helicopter can't hover in one place too long, something about not being able to generate enough lift after creating a dead air pocket due to turbulence or some such...

Someone with more knowledge can probably clarify.

Thanks for your answer. It seems like you actually read what Iwas asking before answering and didn't just think I was asking about real life.

Shame it doesn't stay in the air, would be a laugh if it did!

Exactly. I think I might do this too.

Not a problem.

And yes it would be hilarious if it did; you could hover it over Cherno and then eject...watch as side chat lights up with people talking of the ghostly heli.

I don't have DayZ or Arma 2, I've just seen a few funny videos on Youtube but it didn't have the answer.

Hey guys, wainwj, I just hopped onto Arma and tried it.

Unfortunately it does not work. As soon as you eject the helicopter falls down, and ultimately crashes.

Saw a game I like the look of on the internet. May play it in thefuture, best place to look for info? The offical forum.

Same reason I'm on GTAForums for Grand Theft Auto 5 because I don't own it

Same reason I joined GTPlanet a few years ago for Gran Turismo 5 because I didn't own it but got it the day it came out thanks to the great info found on GTPlanet.

If you eject from a flying heli the engine keeps running but it will slowly fall to the ground. Fact.

That is correct :) The engine will continue but the helicopter will lose its balance and quickly fall out of the sky into a big burst of deathly fire. You can however rescue a helicopter with engine failure since the air that is flowing through the rotors during the fall actually induces enough lift to land it more or less safer.

If you're interested in helicopters, try out Take on Helicopters which you can even

with the Arma content :)
