It's a good move. It's better to have people not play for a few hours than thousands of angry nerds crying on the forums about hackers and spreading the word that nobody should play.

Here's the thing.

This will hopefully let them focus entirely on fixing hacking. My hatred for hackers is so deep that I would rather DayZ go down for a however long it takes and not let them get the satisfaction.

Unless you know exactly what the 'hacking' he was referring to stands for, i would avoid making rush judgments.

You know how i found out that it went down? I was posting on the forums when i got error saying that forums are down. Perhaps it's not as simple and trivial as it seems. We should consider the fact that it could be a security threat.. In which case they are doing so to protect your, and mine privacy and information.

If it's bad enough to warrant a database shutdown by rocket, it's probably a pretty serious issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
