Farming someones camp site

Recommended Posts

I found someones camp site not far from Stary Sobor (bit of a silly place imo) on a low population server which is obviously there to help farm the military tents. A lot of the tents were empty but some had food/drink ammo and a couple of rifles.

I had the idea to take little bits from it as and when I need it but not make it to obvious (unless I find some NVGs) so it would allow the owners to fill their tents with confidence (excluding all bugs ofc)

Does this make me a bandit or is it seen as a dirty move? I have no intention of killing anyone I see near the tents be it the owner or a bandit.

Technically no. It would make you a thief, but I think most people would go with the temptation. For all we know, the tents might be abandoned.

I f I find a large camp I usually just take what I need without being greedy. That way they won't move the camp and you can pop by whenever you like to stock up. I don't consider it banditry, just common sense survival tactics.

I've done exactly what you're describing when I needed to.

It was awesome being able to gear up without spending hours and hours sorting through tin cans and Jack Daniels bottles.

And then there have been tents that had nothing I've needed.

I have a few tents, and I don't even mind if I notice a few things missing, as long as it's not completely empty. I figure I've made someone's day on a couple of occasions.

What I don't understand are the players who loot everything and then destroy the tents. Totally uncool.

Just don't click "save tent" when you take something, as the tent then has a chance of respawning what you took at the server restart, and then the owner won't even miss a thing. Tent Ninja

Dragging myself alone from the Ballota hangars, bleeding from multiple zombie attacks, no weapons, not even an axe, I was trying to sneak out of the air field and found a tent. It was filled to the brim with guns and ammo. I confess, I stole one gun and 2 ammo and a bandage. I felt bad because it's theft but I also knew that I had no more bandages and one more zombie hit would kill me. It's not like I was taking someone's only weapon. Of course, I'm justifying what I did, as do we all in life. Is that right or wrong? Who's to say.

Sula,

I think anyone who places a tent knows they're taking that chance.

some people even place tents in easily found locations for the benefit of others.

Tent looting and banditry are on completely different levels.

Understand also, people keep their most precious gear on them at all times.

HOW COULD YOU?!?

J/K, if you had come across my camp in that situation, you would have been welcome to whatever you needed.
