Adding an in game communication system (ideas)

Recommended Posts

Hello friends,

I have been noticing that in game (Day-Z) there are not many ways to communicate with other players in game (Day-Z). There are radio items that hackers have but I think there should be more options because radios suck

Maybe there could be a new building on the map (maybe in Cherno) which is an Apple store. Inside your character can find MacBooks, iPads, iPhones etc which will help him communicate with other characters. Using these devices your character should be able to use Skype, Facebook, Craiglist (to set up trades with other players) to facilitate easy communications between the players. There would also be an android store but if your character uses the android phone too long they get cancer, since Apple owns the patent on proper electroferromagnetic shielding to prevent Uv radiation

What do you think guys? Can Rocket stand up to the challenge, or will these ideas need to wait for the standalone before you can tweet in game?

Thank you and God blesS!

Personally I don't think that's very realistic. Even if these devices still had fully charged batteries the infrastructure for their communication is no longer there. I have thought of the idea of community notice boards set up in the towns where you could perhaps write a note and display it there. Maybe over time these notes would deteriorate in the weather.

A feature I am in the process of adding to my whitelist private hive is an integrated messaging system in the website. This basically emulates a poorly powered radio transmitter/receiver. So the survivor writes a message into the message box on the site (limited to one message very two minutes). The message is then relayed on the site and depending on the other online survivors' proximity to the originating message the quality of the message received will deteriorate accordingly. Basically, the further away another survivor is the more distorted the message will appear to them.

This I think keeps with the realism that DayZ is all about.

Cheers,

Dave.
