Shotgun question

Recommended Posts

I saw on the DayZ DB site that Pellets cause 2,000 dmg. and Slugs do 4,500 dmg.

Does this mean the entire shell or each scatter shot? Because having 10,000+ blood per shot seems kind of ridiculous.

each pellet does 2000

I think there are 8 pellets per shot

the pellets have terrible accuracy though.. you have to be really close

Sure, you can make the argument that they are overpowered, but at the same time their accuracy is terrible and cannot be used against players 50 meters +, assault rifles, however, shoot fully automatic bullets that cause a huge chunk of damage and with high accuracy, some rifles capable shooting little over a hundred meters. Whilst still being capable in close range being able to load 30 bullets in your enemy with ease and great accuracy.

I'm pretty sure it's per pellet. Pellets would be useless otherwise. From my experience, I had a M1014 with the pellets in, a bandit tried to ninja-hachet me, and I just laid him out. I usually try to knock them out and heal them, but I did so much damage point-blank.

Whenever I carry a shotgun, I only carry pellets.

If you only have slugs, you're better off with a rifle.

Pellets are great against zombies and with the autoloading m1014, you can lay down a nice wall of damage.

Also, they come with the warning that they will seriously destroy your humanity because each pellet you hit/kill with counts towards lowering your humanity.
