Standalone Product/brand placement

Just curious to see how you think specific gun names, and product brands would play out in the Standalone.

Are you attached to gun/soda and canned food names? I personally think it'd be a smart move and great guerilla marketing for large companies to freely license their brand for DayZ (within certain outlined parameters...people can't give each other pepsi enemas in game for example).

I was kinda disappointed to see Counterstrike having to change their gun names way back. And product placement has worked out for games like Alan Wake (Verizon, Energizer, Ford). I find real brands just make the game more immersive. A small touch but seeing iconinc Heinz brand beans does make a difference.

I think it would be smart of the buisness to liscense it to them, but these companies are so big, that they probably won't even consider it.

Didn't Mt. Dew ok the use of their brand already? Could have sworn I read that somewhere!? Maybe I am wrong tho because it is fuzzy... to much Dew?
