PC PROBLEMS CAN'T PLAY DAYZ PLEASE HELP.

Recommended Posts

Hey, let me give you some background information. My problem is that my PC runs absolutely fine if I'm just browsing the Internet or watching YouTube videos, but as soon as I go to play a game such as DayZ, Borderlands 2 or for example the Planet Side 2 beta, my PC just shuts down without warning, my screen just goes black and its kinda' scary every time it happens, can anybody help me please? It was fine until I installed my new Graphics card. I've heard it could be an overheating problem but my PC does not feel hot at all. Please help me, thankyou.

My PC specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor (3.3GHz)

RAM: 8GB

Graphics card: GTX 660Ti

PSU: 850W (Not sure about the make)

Windows 7 Home premium.

You can damage your PC with static electricity if you use a hoover to clean it out. In the future use an air duster.

only ideas i have is

1. check both power cables going from the video card to psu and make sure proper psu rails are used when connecting. each rail puts out diff power.

2. also could be that either though your PSU is rated at 850w if its a cheap brand you may not be getting close to that,

3. your PSU could be on the verge of failing which would cause shutdowns etc.

4. vid card could be defective.

sorry if this is vague but these are the most common things that happen with this sort of problem.

Step 3 - install and open the Program

Step 4 - Open a game and keep program open and check the temperatures, you will know if its overheating
