Nelorzoul 0 Posted June 14, 2012 A friend of mine started playing this a few days before me (I was still downloading Arma II during that time) and was completely overwhelmed by the controls of the game. He was ready to quit, then and there, but has promised to play the game with me on Friday, giving it a real chance, if I'm able to get a grip on how the game works by then. That being said, I've pretty much done just that. I know how to perform basic gameplay actions and whatnot and all that's really left to figure out, with one exception which I'll address in a moment, is to figure out Mod-specific features - such as repairing vehicles and whatnot (which I already have a good idea on how to go about doing.) That being said, this post is asking about the "Fast Forward" feature. My friend, apparently, activated some sort of fast forward feature that was similar to sprinting when he was playing without me. Now I, personally, have not seen this feature nor have I been able to activate it, but he says he has and was confused as to what the difference was between that and sprinting. Anyone have any ideas? He said he just noticed that fast forward seemed to make more sound or something.
fosty99 160 Posted June 14, 2012 Do you mean speeding and slowing time with + and -?
Nelorzoul 0 Posted June 14, 2012 To be honest I'm not really sure what exactly I mean. He just called it fast forward - although it may be the speeding up and slowing of time that you're talking about. I can speculate the purposes for which time manipulation would be used in Arma II, despite having not played it, but I can't see how it would be usable in DayZ, being a multiplayer game and whatnot. gouki 1 Posted June 14, 2012 It's an arma 2 specific function for the single-player portion, makes the time go faster.
adimch 1 Posted June 15, 2012 Yeah, the x2 and x4 speeds only work in Single player.. Would be interesting in MP.
Maca (DayZ) 769 Posted June 15, 2012 From what i know it cant be used in DayZ, unless the server your mate was playing on has it set on????????

TheWaffen 0 Posted June 15, 2012 there is no way you could slow time down and speed it up in a multiplayer setting... derp. by fast forward i think he would mean sprinting, otherwise there isn't anything like what your friend described
