Is the M4A1 Holo SD a legit weapon? My friend found it on a player's corpse, and we're wondering if it's safe to use?

It's interesting how often that weapon is available, regarding such low low low spawnrates for certain weapons anyways. I'm still sad that I once lost my M249 due to stupidity, never found one again.

It would be nice for someone to confirm whether it's legit or not. I have seen the devs mention that not all of the legit weapons are listed in the DayZ Wiki, so I'd not like to lose it in vain :(.

My friend had an M4A1 Holo SD.. I saw it with my own eyes when he was at my house with hit rig, he clicked F to switch and it read clearly, "M4A1 Holo SD". So I'm under the impression it is real, he's died to hackers now, but if I could I would have told him to take Screenshots and post them :S

The loot tables and wikis aren't official so don't use them as a definite source. I think Rocket has stated a few times that if it has an icon/image in the inventory it is in DayZ

Yeah, that's the reason I would rather not drop it. Perhaps a stupid risk of me, but it would be so annoying dropping a perfectly fine legit weapon in vain, like I said.

I've spoken with the dev in question and we both came to an understanding. 1.6.1 arma 2 patch should fix the duping and hacking... I'm a happy camper now!

I just made a post about a dev "Vipeax" allowing twitch.tv streamers to loot these "Hacked boxes" but it was deleted. Not only has he allowed others to loot and keep these weapons that were hacked in' date=' but when LARIKK died from a hacker the dev simply respawned him and is helping him stay alive with the hacked items. This is pitiful and needs to be addressed. If it's not I'll continue to post about it until I'm banned. Then I will take further action. DON"T PUT THIS ASIDE FUCKING DEAL WITH IT NOW!

I read on a Swedish forum I visit that the devs had supposedly confirmed that the M4A1 Holo SD is a legit weapon. I hope that's true.

I found an M4A1 HOLO SD with M203 laying in a spawn pile on a newly restarted server. It's got to be legit.

I don't believe they are going around banning people with hacked weapons just because they have hacked weapons. They are banning the guys who are spawning the hacked weapons in and running scripts to delete the hacked weapons. We found some heavy machine gun before we had any idea there were hacked weapons in the game and some russian gave us a jeep a week or two later, both of them went missing at the same time and we think it's because scripts were ran to delete hacked weapons. None of us were banned, they aren't going to ban people just for having the weapons.

What if they spawn NVGs in and you kill them and take the NVGs, you have no idea they are hacked. They aren't about to just go around banned innocent people, we had no idea the jeep was hacked. I thought it was a good chance, I mean, who gives a jeep away just because they found your base and feel bad about telling the server where it is. He said he had another, even so, two much better than one and plus he was russian and we all know the typical gamer russian loves some hacks especially on free games.

....motherfucker. Some bandit tried to kill me with one of those. I suspected he might be a hackity hacker because of the rest of his gear but I wasn't sure so didn't report. The m4a1SD holo disappeared the next time I logged in so hopefully the ban script got him.

I lost my M249 to hive rolling me back 20 minutes and presumably putting it back in the tent I left it in (it had done this multiple times before). I say presumably because the tent is inaccessible as it is covered in other tents that were packed up because multiple tents placed in one spot bug and all tents reappear on server restart bug.
