How much longer will the Leaderboards be temporarily disabled for?

It seems to me that this button on the homepage has simply become a waste of space. The leaderboards were only up for a few days back in July, if I remember correctly, and as far as I know, they have been down ever since. It is my guess that they were removed because it was decided that DayZ shouldn't really be a game about achieving the highest score, since it is described by its creator as hardly a game at all.

This is a DayZ website/forum suggestion, not a an ingame suggestion, but I didn't see another sub-forum more suited for posting this.

Leaderboards are by far the biggest driving force for cheating by losers who need to feel better having their imaginary name in lights.

I have to agree. It was only meaningful the first day that it was up, since after that, some played with a goal of reaching the leaderboard, while it originally was a reflection on peoples' natural and uninfluenced gameplay.

may i ask, i only started playing a while ago, but what is on the leaderboards, i don't want my ingame name and my status as bandit available to everyone.

If I remember correctly, it showed the names and statistics of the top 20 players in terms of zombie kills, murders, bandits killed, distance traveled, and time alive. There was one leaderboard for alive characters and one for all time. Unless you have about 30 murders, you would not have shown up on the old leaderboards, and I have no doubt that you would need closer to 100 to be on it now.

I don't know about leaderboards specifically but you will likely be able to see your stats in the future/standalone.

I am also glad there is no leaderboard. Stats can be good to a point, but it tends to go far beyond that point. If people cheat/Alt f4 now, just imagine when there is a leaderboard for them to slither their pathetic cunt of a life upwards on
