daveyboy123 0 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) i have a store bought copy and i am lost.... i think i got it installed(improperly probably) but i keep getting 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_PMC' among other issues and error messages which nobody seems to know how to fix, and i sure as hell cant get into a game. can someone give me a step by step instruction guide to installing the game with a store bought copy and without steam, using day z commander!!!!!!! please i am so agrivated, this game looks so fun but all my efforts have proven to add up to jack shit and i have no idea what i am doing wrong. if you are curious to see the in depth description of what is happening to me look at this thread http://dayzmod.com/f...s-running-dayz/....... since nobody has come forth with a solution on that thread i am starting this one to see if there was a problem with the way i installed it..... the only tutorials i could find all went through steam. Am i the only jackass that bought the game from a store?if i cant fix it, then i was hoping to reinstall it using someone elses way and seeing if that works. Just install it straight from the DVD's without Steam and then patch manually.As for the second question. DayZ uses assets from the PMC DLC [Character models...dude with cap...etc] but doesn't actually need it to playbecause Bohemia includes "Lite" versions of all their released DLC's in the patches but with lower res textures.After a successful install, you may need to tell DayZ Commander where exactly you installed Arma 2 though if you didn't use the default location....IE...C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2If it's giving you PMC errors, it's likely because you didn't patch the game after install...... the Lite versions of PMC are not installed until you are fully patched.Patches are here: http://www.arma2.com...=folder〈=enPersonally..... I'd suggest you learn to install Addons and mods manually, that way if things go wrong with any third party installers you at least know what to d.installing manually is actually faster and easier once you know how it's done.
