Coldjuice 1 Posted October 2, 2012 Hey, so right now I have a laptop and I have to go on the lowest settings and can't go into towns or servers with a lot of people. I'm buying a new computer but i want to know what Specs on the new desktop do I need to be able to play on normal - very high settings on a server with 30+ people in a big town and not lag at all. Thanks,Coldjuice

gesundheitk 420 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) I didn't read your post all the way through. My bad, anyways, if you're looking for a desktop that you can freely upgrade in the future, but want to play on High Settings with 30+ FPS, then I have a decent desktop for you. Though I need some information on how much you are willing to spend. For now, I'll give you a cheap option, then I'll show you some upgrades you can make if you feel this computer isn't enough. This build should be just fine for gaming, and you shouldn't worry too much about the chip, as it has hyperthreading, which allows the computer to see it as a Quad-Core CPU.Intel Core i3-2120 Dual-Core Processor - $125.00http://amzn.to/Sx7YtBASUS P8B75-V Motherboard - $100.00http://amzn.to/QFwADCSapphire Radeon HD 6850 - $160.00http://amzn.to/PponzaKingston Technology 8GB RAM - $40.00http://amzn.to/SiFQzXCorsair CX600 600w Power Supply - $75.00http://amzn.to/P7koNsWestern Digital 500GB Caviar Black Hard Drive - $85.00http://amzn.to/V8SvpHLite-On 24x DVD Burner - $25.00http://amzn.to/P7kDYLCooler Master HAF 912 - $61.00http://amzn.to/O1qY6pWindows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - $91.00http://amzn.to/QTDXVcTotal: $662.00**This is excluding shipping, so if you live pretty far, be sure to calculate it all. That's actually pretty cheap for a computer that can run high settings at about 30 FPS. I do like some of these parts as I've recommended them in the past before. If you want a cheaper system, it's completely possible, but I thought I'd set you up on a good system. Keep in mind, prices are constantly changing, and I had estimated them to the nearest dollar. If you are European, you can estimate them to Euro by looking it up online. To also build it, I highly suggest checking out newegg's 3 part videos on how to build and set up your PC. Edited October 2, 2012 by Gesundheit

gnomebolt123 4 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) quite honestly if you don't wish to build it yourself then you can get a great budget build from cyberpower for $600 to $700, probably fit in a nice 600 series nvidia card and maybe even an intel quad core if you're lucky. My specs:Intel i5 2500k quad core 4.2 ghz (Overclocked)8gb memory 2133 mhz (Overclocked)90gb Cosair ssd1.5tb 7200 rpm Western digital Caviar black hard driveNvidia Geforce GTX 670 Evga 4gb graphics cardAsus Maximus IV GENE-Z motherboardI play the game at max with 1920x1080 it was around $1000 to $1200 for my rig, but for $600 you could easily pull off normal with a 1080p resolutionif a gtx 650 or a gtx 660 isn't out of the question get one of those. Outside of cities in the wilderness, my FPS is usually 60+ average.I think I can say with confidence that a $600 rig will not let you run this game with absolutely no "lag" (aka, FPS below 55-60). A smooth gameplay experience means FPS no less than 60, and there's no way a $600 rig can get you there on Day Z.In fact, I'm considering purchasing a second GTX 670 for SLI to see how much it improves my framerate. I would think quite a bit. If you really want "no lag" on Day Z, be prepared to spend around $1500 minimum. Edited October 3, 2012 by lukeman3000
