Chernarus vs Lingor - ROUND 1 FIGHT!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

This post is dedicated to those who want to weight in on the two heavyweights of Dayz. Basically I have been contemplating going back to Chernarus after playing Lingor for a while. Lingor has a charm of it's own...making use of the full map with every city having something useful. I don't know what it is...but something is calling me to go back and experience getting shot in the face by a sniper in the borders of Elektro once again. Seem crazy? Or is Chernarus really that good? Lets find out.

In the blue corner, this map is 14x10, includes locations such as Cherno, Elektro, NW Airfield, Ballata Airfield and the infamous STARY! It is the originator, the one that started it all....CHERNARUS!!

aaaand in the red corner, this map is 10x10, a map that has been defined as "stunning". Pleasing to the eye yet still as dangerous as they come. With locations such as Maruko, the International Airstrip, Calamar, the racetrack and many more...give it up for LINGOR!

You know the rules, watch your rapid QQ's and low blows. Lets have a clean and fair fight!

Chernarus by way of submission, in the 36th second of the very first round.

Yes lingor is an awesome map, but its a bug fest. Doors that you cant fit through, zombies that swim in concrete and wade waist high in 40% of the buildings.

Chernarus is the perfect setting for DayZ. If the lingor bugs got fixed, we could be on for one hell of a rematch. Until that time, chernarus is the pound for pound champ.

Chernarus. Beautiful and deadly. I would like to see a little more distribution of spawn points, making Cherno and Elektro choke points for fresh spawns is just cruel lol!!

It's looking like my signature may need updating...Lingor just doesn't seem to be in the same league!

Lingor myself...

Chernarus is nice map, but i think its a major fault is the fact u cant enter most buildings i.e the small towns aren't really worth checking out. Unless u are stuck for food

U end up sneaking around a small town looking @ doorsteps to see if anything spawned, hoping a zombies don't spot u.

While lingor has it bugs, i prefer the fact of nearly all buildings u can enter.

Also makes it alot harder to guess where a person might be, even when u hear gunshots in a direction u cant be sure which building they might be at / near

Also shoulder mounted flashlights (while buggy at times) is v.nice + no nv with dmr's is also a plus in my book.

I like them both, they have some good and not so good aspects in both maps, for example; the thick and tall grass and foliage in Lingor camouflages you quite efficiently, while in Chernarus I'm quite fond of tall enterable buildings. I feel like there are more bandits in Lingor though.. And I don't like bandits. Chernarus is infested with hackers though and that is even worse.

While having every building lootable in the map seems fun at first, Lingor gets very old; very fast. I found myself wielding top tier weaponry before I even had ventured past the corner of the map I had spawned in.

Lingor is easy, that's the bottom line here. And in my opinion, Day Z should not be easy.

The fact that you are much much muuuuch less likely to have top-tier weapons within only an hour or so of play time is what I (personally) like about Chernarus. And what keeps me from ever playing other maps.

Secondly, I don't think that Lingor really is the proper setting for Day Z. But again, that is simply my opinion.

Chernarus with everything off, and on a Private Hive is just raw fun.

Not everyone's got a set of NVG's on those servers, so it makes for a better game.
