What went wrong?

So I come across a Off-road Pickup. It needed 4 wheels and the engine and hull are in the red. I find the wheels, get in, and it runs! I head out through an open field and while maneuvering slowly around a stone wall, I barely run into the corner of it and BOOM. Huge fire ball. Now what caused this? Being unfamiliar with vehicle repair, was it the hull or the engine I should have repaired?

More or less likely the engine, if fuel was damaged to the point of red that would have been the most definite cause.
