Handle is Invalid

Whenever I attempt to join a server, it returns the error "The handle is invalid." What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Bump. This is becoming a festering issue, sporadic as well. Sometimes it works, some times it doesn't, but for the most part, it doesn't.

Edit: This sounds like a possible network issue on your end, I'm still looking.

Edit 2: What OS are you using, is this a laptop? Are you trying to connect via VPN?

Windows 64-bit desktop. And no, I'm not on VPN.

Unusual error for joining a server, I'd expect to see when launching the game, are you running steam/the game as administrator ?

Running both Steam and the game as Admin.
