ALMOST killed a guy with an AS50-TWS

Recommended Posts

Ello,

I was playing "Apocalypse cop" and camping on the hill in Elecktro with my M107, when i see a guy in a Ghuillie suit with a massive rifle start to cross the open field.

It was a weird looking gun. It looked like a 50cal, but it had something resembling a camera ontop of it.

So i figured "Ok, he's fairgame" punched in the range, fired two shots, and missed horribly because i almost never snipe.

He immediatly turns around, spots me, and returns fire. I GTFO and live (somehow), stopped running halfway to Pusta and logged off.

Almost got one. Almost.

ALWAYS wait for that perfect shot when sniping. Otherwise you blow the chance of a kill.

Almost! Good job for trying!

Its not as satisfying killing them anymore because i know they have no skill they just hack it in!

What Skat said, if the dudes in a vulnerable area especially an open field. Make sure you have the perfect shot before taking it.

I wanted to see how easy it was to snipe in this game (I never actually snipe in DayZ) so I opened up the Editor in ArmA 2: OA, armed myself with an AS50 and put 100 enemy forces heading towards my position. After 20-30 shots I had the hang of it and could snipe better then 9/10 players with one shot upto 1000m away. Moving targets were a little trickier to one shot, very hard beyond 500m due to the time it takes for the bullet to reach them. You can quickly learn the animations which give you time to get your shot off, for instance standing up from prone gives you a split second of time which is useful when the character is in the 500-800m range. Beyond 800m the time delay for the bullet to hit really necessitates a stationary target or large quantities of luck.

now do it with a DMR, with moving targets.

almost is not good enough no beans for you

QFTW

any time you see a as50 tws, get close and behind the person before they know you're there. chances are the first thing Mr. Noob will do if he hears something is bring the scope up and scan the area. Meaning if you're close, this is your chance to strike as thermal sight & zoom makes scanning a close proximity very slow and disorienting.

If you engage at a distance, you're screwed. That simple.

Players with AS50TWS' are usually an easy kill. They hack because they are bad at the game. The alternative is they picked it up off a dead body and want to try it because they have never seen one before. Both cases, easy kills.
