Admin abuse?

Hi,

Ok, so this happened on a Private Lingor Island server on the other day and i need someone to explain to me some of the admin powers because i am not fully aware with them.

Basically we went on a war against the admins of the server because they killed us and took our gear for no reason. Since then we found out their camp and raided it 3 times with success, stealing all sorts of firepower from them.

On the same day, we were flying around in a heli and i am almost 100% sure that they didnt have one with them. Suddently a message appears from BattleyeClient: "Server Restart in 3 Minutes". We then proceeded to landing our chopper away from sight, saved it and aborted. After the server restarts there is a message from BattleyeClientAdmin (which i assume is not an automated message) saying: "Manual Server Restart in 1 Minute to Fix Something". (I must say that I have been playing on this server for a couple of weeks and i NEVER saw a manual restart before). After the Manual restart, we connect and 2 of the Admins were in same spot as our chopper ambushing us and stealing it. In my opinion:

1/ There is no way they knew where we were.

2/Even if they did know where we were they didnt approach our camp legitimately because we would have seen them.

So basically all i need to know is if by checking the logs they can find out other players/ choppers position and (maybe) teleport there?

They have the ability to read logs and find where vehicles/players are, yes.

But admins should not have the ability to teleport without the use of a hack.

But there are so many different servers, I'd honestly just tell people you know of this server, and find a new one.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of tents there with a lot of guns and since it is private I will have to play on it until i lose everything.

One more question, you think they can check our position in real time or only when we log off/server restarts?

An admin can do anything.. as a cheater can do it as well. The advantage of an admin is that he can cheat without risking of being banned.. that's all.

Don't loose your time to collect vehicles, build camps and so... DayZ atm is completely fooked up, there are public cheats available (real time maps for players and everything else; teleport; mass kill) and your camp won't last longer than 1 day (if you're lucky).

In other words building a long time strategy is a complete waste of time (unless you love to spend your time doing so.. but knowing perfectly that you won't have anything the next day).

I have been hearing that a lot but my tents have been untouched for more than a week now!! Maybe luck I guess. And I guess you are right. Making a base to store a chopper will be useless because they will come and steal it whenever they want. :(

It sounds like they did this:

- Shut the server down so you couldnt do anything with the chopper.

- went into the local DB and changed theyre coordinates to what ever the chopper was.

- started the server up and insta logged on, ready to ambush you at the chopper.

I know this, because ive used this method of "teleporting" to verify vehicle spawns and whatnot after updates.

It is very easy and it seems like people abuse it. I would leave that crap hole of a server and find a place where the admins actually care about the users and dont mind getting killed etc.

This kind of thread is happening to often in this section :( so sad to see people playing god, just because they have such a small penis. Its the only reason tbh...

This is just an example of a bad server. Name and shame so other people know they use admin powers to exploit and let them defend themselves if they want to deny it.

This is a sad risk of private servers, it's sadly still a risk on public servers, but at least if you find a good server it's a good safe place to play and not worry about crap like this.

Hey you can check out our server, I run a decent server with great admins who do not abuse there powers.

We also have a TS3 Server allowing you to speak directly to the Admins. Also I am the Server owner and I do monitor my admins, the one thing that I hear most from people is "Thanks for being fair admin"

Also on another note and not meaning to sound like a dick but if those admins did abuse there powers there is really nothing you can do about it, its their server and they can do as they please.

Even though you are right we still want to go on firefights with those guys (notice they found our vehicles but not our tents) because they might be admins but they are noobs. We owned them in 4 of the 5 firefights we had against them and we were outnumbered in all of them. I'm just wondering if there is a way where we can use their admin powers against them. Also, if we dump all the guns and destroy all their vehicles in their base will they be able to roll back the server and get everything back?

We would just like to piss off these guys before never playing on their server anymore!

Database acces = You can see all and everyone on the server. All inventory, all object, all players, all locations.

This is usually where admin abuse take place, coz BE cant do anything about it.

Rollbacks is allways a possibility if the admins have done backups recently.
