Boy That Escalated Quickly

I'll try to keep this relatively short since most people won't care but this is just to reinforce why I love dayz.

I was creepin on three guys in Drassen on Lingor Island - I watched them congregate on this hill then one goes to the firehouse and the other leads the zombies away after all the noise they made for a good 10 minutes. The last one stays back as the spotter for the guy going to the firehouse or what im assuming is the firehouse. Couldn't really see where he was going but the firehouse made sense. I got bored watching them running out in the open so run 300 meters to sneak up on the spotter to drop some bows on his bitch ass but by the time I got on the back end of them, they moved into town towards the firehouse.

After they made some more noise with their DMR's, AK's, AKS's, M4's and Lee's, I peak my head over the hill the spotter was on to see the gang of three heading towards a warehouse which is about 350 meters from my hill. They run up on the side of the warehouse to stop and kill a zombie they had on them so I took the dick way out and shot him with my m16. Headshot from about 400 meters give or take. The others run around like crazy and I started killing so might as well continue so I light up the other two but only wounding them both.

They go inside the warehouse to escape my rain of terror. As soon as they got in the warehouse, all I hear are guns a blazing and I see bullets just plaster the inside of the warehouse. Then it all stopped and the zombies despawned. Me being somewhat confused, I make my way up to loot the guy I killed for sure. As I'm running up, I notice there was a bus sticking out of the large door of the warehouse and the only thing I could say was "Oh shit."

I decide to take a peek inside the warehouse. What I find could only be descried as hilarious.

My first thought when I was on the hill was oh they were killing zombies in the warehouse and then they despawned because they were bleeding out from me and DC'd. No, apparently the three I was watching was watching three/four other guys mess with a bus and they moved down to take it. But what they didn't expect was me to be behind them with a giant purple dildo to ruin their plans.

So I start taking shit off all the corpses like a coyote pack, gps, g17, m4 cco, etc. Then as Im doing so, I hear footsteps outside near the first guy I killed so I post up as a dead body and watch the entrance. Sure enough a bandit comes around with a AKS and the lag and registry being the way it is, I pump all 30 rounds into him before he falls down. He even got a shot off and hit me.

Since my debug monitor went away, I don't know if I killed four guys or only two. Regardless, I survived in the end of all the madness which lasted a good 10 minutes.

I guess I didn't keep that short but the excitement and shear adrenaline I get from just a video game is just amazing. Even with all the bugs and lag, it's a great mod and I can't wait for the standalone. I hope it has the same effect on me.

Darn I should try out Lingor island or any of the other maps out some more. though the ambient noises (the bloody animals, god I have no idea what animals even cause these noises.) they bother me as I don't know if they can be turned of seperatley. afraid it's combined in the Sound effects.

But hell! nice struggle you got into, and not to mention, gotten out of alive. it's something I rarelly experience myself. I usually get a bullet popped through my head before having a chance to engage a group while running solo. kudos!

lol thanks. You just have to be patient and take the right angles into combat. Like I stated, I didn't just run directly to them, I creeped around for a while and scouted the way their overwatch guy patrolled the area. He was just dead set on his guy in town and not looking around to potentially see me creepin so it was rather easy to come up behind them all without a hitch. Sound is very important in this game as I'm sure you know so be mindful of your surroundings. Don't be the guy that makes the noise first because like I said with sound, they'll know your location almost instantly. Only take the shots if you know for a fact you can kill them or at least put a few holes in them. I had to shoot when I did or they would of gotten away I'm sure.
