Some people dont know what a coward is.

Hell yeah, some good old fast in fast out clear up mission, i like the sound of that

LoL or something I considered, three teams. One team of 2 well armed "Survivors" or perhaps a military protecting a survivor. Gotta make sure they've got lotta bullets for this. Anyway other two teams of 5 bed down and wait outside cherno for the team of two to bury themselves in a building. Have the survivor get broken legs. Then they both just raise hell. Once they do. The two teams of 5 would get the green light to go in and save the team of 2 first. Kinda to simulate say a group of survivors trying to fetch a some wounded folks while a group of "bandits" attempt to just loot them.

Tracking the team of 2 wouldn't be hard. Because of the gun fire. Staying alive would be the hard part. It would put a time limit on both teams because even a guy with an AKM and 20 mags will run out firing in a building in cherno. Won't take long. ( I went through six mags the day the new /spawn/aggro feature was put in, like 10 minutes)

But yea PvP with a goal. This is something that would have to be extremely organized as we'd have to deal with interlopers. You said you got a chopper, perhaps we can get an extra team patrolling the woods around where this shin dig goes down.

Lets face it there isn't much to do. Plus if you got a whole clan or at least a server that knows one another you can have the whole server like..."farm" for these type of events.

After the "match" is over people can run in and loot whats left, deposit it on the heli on top of the fire station then start again.

Nothing wrong with disengaging without killing the other guy. If I get shot at, I'll pop a few rounds in the general direction of my assailant, and then while he's diving under a bush I'll just go to a different area code. Eff you, buddy, I live in Berezino now. If you want to come pursue the issue, we'll talk about it then.

Getting hit by a vehicle is easily the most awesome way to die in DayZ. Landed on by a chopper is bonus points, of course.

This almost happened to me in BF3 once. Guy in a chopper was shooting at me and I had a sniper rifle, I got him by a stroke of luck. Then I realized the chopper was still falling. I survived at 1% limped away from the wreckage and proceeded to not get another kill the whole match but still felt like a bad ass!

Was rushed last night but have a moment now to elaborate;

Concealment, deception and ambush are all valid military tactics. Guess that folks in the west are raised by TV to think these are the tactics of non-state actors, terrorists (but not freedom fighters lol). Really nobody uses deceit more than western military forces. The most important aspect of fighting a smaller invisible enemy is intelligence. With that intelligence you can use counter-intelligence to lure the enemy to the location of your choosing, or at least be there ready whereever they happen to be moving. Much the same as a guerrilla force might wait in hiding by a water pool. Awww, those guys only wanted to get a drink but you shot them? That's not fair! The guerrillas should write a letter warning them its coming lol? Maybe in never-never land..

Really if your eyes have been opened at all in this world and if you have seen anything beyond the grim confines of a little estate, you know the brutality that exists beyond say a place like little Britain. I feel like mentioning that tried and tested RL bandit tactic one often hears and which would happen in a post-apocalyptic scenario of the beautiful woman running down the road with her clothes torn flagging down loaded up survivor vehicles. Hopefully they will stop, to offer help. That's when the drivers would be shot and their supplies looted. That probably happened in RL as I am writing this thread, be it in South America or whatever.

The world is a nasty cunt of a place and people can be fucking awful. Deal with it bros

Edited, too much information for what appears to be a deeply confused 14 year old

Just had a remembrance worth sharing. During the Mau Mau rebellion against their British rulers, after the jungle carpet bombing proved ineffective, there was a young officer in the British army who had the most cunning of plans. His men would ditch their uniforms and don native clothes, but not until they had literally painted themselves black from head to toe. They would patrol areas suspected to have militants, with a number of paid natives in their midst, doing things like chatting and singing local songs. These tactics actually turned the tide of the rebellion in Britain's favour. Now they were able to get close to and even be confronted by unsuspecting rebels whereupon they'd pull out their weapons and gun them down close up (or send them to internment camps). There isn't much Klingon honour in those tactics and they'd be viewed as cowardly from the perspective of the enemy. But the point is it worked. They disguised themselves as friendly, lured in the enemy and killed them. Relevance to DayZ is that guy who calls out friendly, lowering your guard, talks to you for a while running about but then shoots you suddenly in the back of your head or that sniper who sits aiming at the bus he parked there 3 hours ago, or the two bandits that constantly give each other bloodbags to get a hero skin appearance are only acting realistically within a relatively realistic game. Cowardice as it is popularly perceived has always had a place in both combat and survival, which is why we see it so much in DayZ.

As the once great Bob Marley said "He who fight's and runs away, lives to fight another day" and I'm damn sure he never meant ALT&F4

I hope each one of your bullets hit the motherfucker in his stupid cowardly face except the last bullet - that one should have gone up his anus where he obviously keeps his mouth.

So what your saying is, it's better to alt-f4 out of a game than die like a champ?

You must be a pro at this game...

What everyone else said - jeez read first man.

(Can we have an option to give people tin cans?)

Snipers are cowards

Campers are cowards

Alt-4ers are cowards

Running to avoid gunfire is a valid tactic, as long as you try and find a way to shoot back. Never leave the fight, except death in your embrace.

Setting up a trap does not make you a coward, it makes you smarter than the guy who fell into it.

I used to put a bear trap in the entracnce to one of the NWAF barracks and put a morphine, painkillers and bandage within sight, if a bandit walked into it, i'd pop him while he working out why he just fell down with a broken leg, if a survivor walked into it I told him there is everything he needs to patch himself up next to him and I leave him a little something to say sorry. (Mostly food to replace blood and things I don't want to use like grenades and satchel charges.)

*I stopped doing this as I was hitting WAY more survivors than bandits, one nearly died and I ran to Vydor and got loads of food for him while he waited in a safe spot.

Sniper doesn't make you a coward, it makes you ... Well, a sniper. The whole point of being a sniper is to take people out undetected from a safe distance. The whole point of being a survivor is to make sure you don't fall into thier LoS. There are ofc some basterds who will camp and snipe fresh spawns, unarmed players and so on, but they fall into the catagory of dick heads more than snipers.

Alt4'ers..... Yea that's mostly cowardly, although it does sometimes have it acceptable uses, I was running through the wilderness and suddenly I was in the south air field bunker with 3 guys pointing guns at me, hackers ofc and I logged out ASAP (didn't alt 4, just pressed esc and clicked abort, alt 4 does nothing for me for some reason).

Ok:

1) Wow.

2) Cool.

3) I couldn't have put it any better myself.

4) Sadly I can't see too many people here being able to understand the message of that post.

5) ???

6) Profit! (Sorry I couldn't help it haha.)

And lastly, remind me not to get on your bad side haha.

Hacking is cowardly.

Alt-F4 is cowardly.

Ghosting is cowardly.

Running like a scared little dog with its tail between its legs is not cowardly. I do it to avoid killing anyone.

Trusting someone regardless of the risk is not cowardly. I do it to avoid killing anyone. I do it because one good DayZ narrative experience is worth all the bad ones.

But staying and fighting a fight you can't win? That doesn't make you brave. It makes you a bad tactical planner.

Real cowards show their backs to humanity... Real heroes bring humanity out of the darkness. I stand in the void, I protect those close to me and fight to the death for them, therefore i am no coward, though i will not risk myself to help the plight of others, I am no Hero, i am just a survivor.

DayZ...the story of how we fell and rised from the ashes.

I have had a look around and can't find that description of DayZ anywhere at all. This sim isn't about rebuilding society. And really, you aren't gonna find a more accepting society than the RL one you are presently in, so there is no point dreaming beyond that!As was just saying on another thread, your idea of DayZ would work as a game but its just not DayZ. Since you are young and therefore at your most creative you could consider collecting your ideas and sending them to the guys who make The Sims series. Your ideas of peace and harmony, rebuilding etc would work better on such an engine. Not trolling, being genuine. Forget about dayZ going soft, it will only get more brutal.
