dazza121 6 Posted September 24, 2012 Ok so have been playing dayz for quite a while (since may) but this is my first post here, I need to clarify something that happened.So my friend and I went for a massive run yesterday, went up to Stary sobor (where we usually dont go) and scored us some of the best loot we had achieved so far, satchel charge, m107, m16a2, g17, plus heaps of ammo. Now I know thats not THE most amazing gear but for us it was as we usually avoid the military areas and just hang around the coast or surviving in forests hunting animals and such.We decide to leg it to Cherno to grab some hospital supplies, that goes well so now we have blood bags, epi-pens etc, so we run back north in to the hills, stopping in a forest to organize our gear so we each have equal amount of stuff.Then the dreaded instakill begins, I start seeing ppl being killed one after the other, so I yell to my friend to log out NOW! I managed to log off quickly enough, but my friend didnt, there was flies. I log back in as soon as I can, hoping to at least salvage some gear of my mates dead body, but it wasnt there? I run back into cherno and sure enough there a dead survivors lying around on the roads(mostly noobs, checked their bodies). So what happened to my friends body, did it just disappear, or because we were on a slope did it sink into the ground or something?tldr; friend was killed, logged back onto server, body wasnt there. dazza121 6 Posted September 24, 2012 (edited) Makes sense now, my friend did alt-f4, but after the death screen, so yeh the body either was gone or sank into the ground I would say. It was an insta-kill hack where everyone just dies where they are. So basically shouldnt have logged out after death, ah well lesson learnt.We did log into another server after that and straight away found a CZ550 in a barn, so that lessened the pain a little...
