Survival advices

Hey im not really new to DayZ i already played it 2 or 3 month ago and was rather successful(plenty of supplys and a nice weapon)

Well yesterday i started playing again and i discovered pretty fast that zombies now engage way faster / from a further distance.

I just got to know thats because of a change to their vision on daylight.

So my question is now how to get some supplys when you got nothing (yes i died).

Is it better to start at daytime and get some flares and then switch to night?

Or just start at night? I normaly play with a friend.

So maybe you guys can give me some advice to be a better survivor :)

Try to get to Berenzino, the most under-appreciated city in the game. I NEVER find people there. Its home to a hospital, 2 Supermarkets, 6 apartment blocks, 3 deer-stands, and a military base with 3 tents. A helicopter crash spawns nearby aswell sometimes. As for day vs. night, I find night better for looting cities. Even if you are seen, you can just run around a corner and lose your pursuers(i.e. players).
