Vehicles: How To Keep Them When Loggin Off

I have a question. I came across a bike and when I logged off I was still sitting on it. Only problem when I logged back in the bike was gone. About a 1minute before logging off I did Same Bike or whatever the command is. My question is how do I have a vehicle and keep it if I log off? What is best practice? Say if I have a car. Should I be instead or outside of it? Should I be using the save vehicle command? If so when and ho soon before I log off?

Any other tips or thins I should know?

The command would be "Save Bike" or whatever vehicle it is that you're saving. However, that doesn't bring it back if someone else finds it where it was saved and it's stolen.

There are no commands for vehicles. And does not matter if you are in or out, though if in you can sometimes glitch and die/ break your legs/ or something. Vehicles do not disappear out of the server the way you seem to think. They are persistent. Even after you get off a player can find it and steal it/ blow it up/ take items out of it/ etc. The only thing when looking at a vehicle and pressing "save vehicle" does is tries to keep the items/vehicle in the same spot after a server restart. But if a player takes it, moves it to a new location, saves it, your save is then invalid.

When you exit a vehicle the location is saved, so it should be in the same location when you log out/log in.

Unless you try to save it off the edge of the map, which should send the vehicle back to it's spawn point on server restart.

The "save vehicle" command only saves the gear stored, like saving a tent.

'Save Vehicle' will keep the vehicles status (e.g. damage) and gear when a server restarts.

It is best not to be inside a vehicle when you log off, just incase you log back in underneath it, possibly damaging yourself or the vehicle.

'Save Vehicle' and logging off in a vehicle does not remove the vehicle from the server when you are not online, so anyone can take it/move it/steal the gear/blow it up.

Only way to reduce the chances of losing a vehicle is to find a spot hidden from busy areas. Say in a dip in the terrain, surrounded by trees. Unfortunately places you might think are really good will be known by other survivors so nothing is 100% safe, just like tents.

Only vehicles that are a little easier to keep out of reach are boats and helicopters. Problem being that if someone destroys them or something goes wrong with the server restart you might become stranded :P (You can pop helicopters on buildings people can't get to, but if some cruel person shoots it up while you are logged off then you get stuck on top of a very tall building ;))

- Scroll on bike and click 'Save Bike'. Youve saved it.

If you didnt it will be at the place you found it or saved it last (on server restart).
