is it possible to move stuff from your Alice bag (or what ever bag) to your main inventory without finding loot to do it with, or killing a zombie? reason I ask is I would like to eat the food in my alice bag, but its such a pain to move things back and forth to do so.

Maybe I am missing something

Click on the bag, click "Open Bag" to open it, and you will be able to not only take stuff directly out of the bag, but store stuff in your inventory into the bag. This is the only way to do it as it simulates you physically pulling the object from your bag and into your pocket for use.
