Vehicle hoarding off map: Where should I look?

I have not been able to find any vehicles on my local server once in all the times I have played. I've spend this week scouring spawn points for anything, motorcycles, cars, ATV's. And yet I find nothing.

I KNOW there are a bunch of clans that play regularly on the server

Just today, In a spectacular stroke of luck, I fell upon maybe 2 clan sites, 4 tents at one, 10-14 tents at another. FILLED WITH gear.

I found the 10-14 tent clan site near the edge of the coast in the far north, where nobody would look, which is specifically why I looked there. (I was really scouring for boats which would most likely be moored up there since it's remote)

But no vehicles, which leads me to believe they are stored off the map.

Where should I look to find them?

Should I look at wilderness just north of their tent sites (Its pretty close) Maybe follow the closest road to the wilderness out and see what I find over a few hills?

I'm angry because I cannot ever find a vehicle, and I am SURE that they have them. (The major clan group)

If I do find vehicles, I'm taking the one I want, then destroying the tires on the others, and marking the location on the map.

Hey Mr Red text, try scouring the west side of the map... and then the north but sometimes you may have to look up to 1k out the map for some of the vehicles

Vehicles can no longer be stored off the map, once a server restarts, vehicles too close to the edge of the map get returned to a previous location. (Where that is beats the hell out of me, but probably spawn location.) Chances of you finding one of the 20ish vehicles (including bicycles) is pretty slim. Especially if there are active clans taking them, using them, and probably destroying them. You may have found a few camps, but from how clans usually work, they have outposts, you probably just found a previous outpost that was once a main site that became compromised. Most tents are still full of loot thanks to the dupe bug, so don't expect them to be their main host site. Try finding where all the sites are, and do rounds, eventually, you might catch them in the act.

If you are going to look off the map those are your best bets, but a dedicated group being little bitches about vehicles can store them pretty much anywhere (and yes no matter what groups say storing vehicles off map is a bitch move).

Problem is those vehicles might be underwater off the coast thanks to some stupid little hacker, so you really have no way of knowing. My buddy and I got teleported to the tiny island in the far Southeast corner of the in game map (not even close to being shown on Dayz db map) for a hack attack but managed to kill two of the guys and whoever was hacking did not have a weapon and was kicked after we identified him, but pretty much every vehicle on the map was on this island. We blew up the ones we could but did not have enough ammo to destroy all of them and save them so they would respawn, so more than half the available vehicles on this server will remain on this island.

Edit: I am fairly sure the new patch claimed to fix this issue but did not.

I've actually tested vehicles saving off the map, as well as camps and players. Tents cannot be places, vehicles despawn and players are respawned (with their gear) in a random map location.

There is a gas station east of Gorka and north of Polana.

I got some car there... just waiting for some player in need of gas and just steal there car just after killing them! :thumbsup:

We used to make our camps out there in the 60's when this game was hip and cool, now we do not bother as everyone looks there for camps. But your thinking along the right lines now study the map think to yourself where would nobody look or where would I hide a camp if I wanted to be sneaky and devious and this is where you will find the camps.

Although we've had to step it up a gear as large camps are now found easily as everyone looks where nobody would ever look, for us we never hide off the map its to unreliable, we also do not put all our eggs in one basket so they are all hidden within map boundaries usually amongst tree's, i'd also give you a few other secrets to our better hiding places but to be honest just work it out yourself.

I remember heading to this really out of the way remote location thinking to myself this is a great place to hide my camp no one will EVER look here, I set-up camp saved it and was happy to have a nice hidden away back-up so off I trot when... whats that I hear? an ATV? and sure enough it was so i run back to my camp to find the cheeky bar steward going through my tent, a few swift shots put him to rest. So I packed up my tent and thought well that was just luck him finding my camp there are hundreds of other servers out there i'll choose one at random and make another. I found a nice Chicago server log in and as soon as I enter i'm faced with 6 tents a Ural, sedan, tractor and atv, shit me I thinks. I make a note of the server and leave, i then pick an EU server at random and log in and would you adam and eve it another camp!!!! Turns out my nice secret location in a place no one would ever think of looking is the same place everyone else decided to go.

The edge of the map @086.000 is a pretty common place, because the spot's not visible from the sides or the map side. But the ones really off the map... dunno, they could be anywhere. Maybe several clicks to the north outside the map.. basically anywhere where the owner is willing to run with (x) amount of supplies. And for you to find it, you'd pretty much have to know the exact spot to head up from or it's just mindless wandering around the emptyness. (I've tried ;P)

I bet some people are willing to run really high up north outside the map just to make sure no one finds em... Shame, really. I haven't had a car either. Have stumbled upon a chopper twice though.. I guess I just got lucky.

Pretty sure Cherno has about 50 vehicles that can spawn on the map at one time..Also according to Dayzdb the atv can spawn up to 15 times.

Get a scuba set up and go looking for them off the coast, that is probably where scripters left all the vehicles.
