How to avoid logging in on the coast.

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I've noticed many people have suffered from this bug and respawned on the coast with all their gear (or even worse, completely naked). I figured i'd make a thread explaining what (i'm pretty sure) the problem is and how to avoid it.

Basically from what i've gathered spawning on the coast is caused by alt+f4'ing or otherwise closing the game during the loading screen. If you close the game during the loading screen is corrupts your location and makes the game think your in the debug plains, which then makes you re-spawn on the coast.

While closing the game during loading is sometimes un-avoidable (stuck on loading etc) there is a way to prevent spawning on the coast. What you need to do is open another instance of DayZ and let THAT load up succesfully, THEN close the other window where your stuck on loading.

Dayz commander is extremely useful for

TL;DR: Do not close the game during loading. Open the game again and let it load up in another window, THEN close the window where your stuck @ loading.

I have also noticed, that on certain servers (That proly have not been restarted in awhile) where the loading screen takes forever (5 mins or more). Even waiting through the loading screen spawns you on the cost, think it has to do with the server your joining more then anything.

Love the tip tho, will keep it in mind

I don't mean Alt+f4'ing out of combat, i mean closing the game during the loading screen.

Bud.

Solution 2: Never log in and you won't log in on the coast. No need to thank me, I'll be taking all your beans now.

I have had hackers kill me twice in the past 3-4 days instantly when I spawn in, then it sends me to somewhere in the wilderness without actually respawning. I have nothing at all on me and when I join a different server, I spawn with nothing at all on me including a pack or anything else. This shit makes me just want to wait it out until the standalone and not even log in until then.

I never do that either bud, have a top the of range computer - can get into any server in about a minute, so no need to close the game on loading. Still manage to spawn on coast though, not trying to be a douche or anything by the way.. would just like to know why it happens to me :( lol.

Dang O.o. Not sure what's going on there. Probably the same problem (your location getting corrupted) but caused by something else.

What i posted works for me however, i haven't spawned on the coast since. Not sure what's wrong with you lol.

I like to add that this just happened to me after a long loading screen that I did not alt-f4 out of. By that I mean that I pressed esc and was able to get out of the game, but this still happened.

So the information i have gathered is that closing DayZ during loading screen does as you say, it spawns oyou on the coast. also i have realized that when you join a new city or whatever, and leave, BE has a new feature that thinks if you jion a city (like Cherno, Elektro, Stary Sobor, etc.) it thinks you are trying to server hop. so what it does is it spawns you on the coast, but with all their gear. so if you manage to join a new city, wait a little bit, best thing is to grab some loot before you leave, and then leave the server. I hope this works for you guys, had to run to Sohlnicity 2 times already ( shhhhhhh i dont have a camp there).

I've only experienced this when server-hopping repeatedly and closing the game immediately after loading in at my logout spot. What happens is, I load in and it says "Dave has died" and I finish loading into debug plains with no inventory. No bag or nothing. I then exit, and rejoin the server and I spawn on the coast at the nearest point to where I "Died" (Skalisty Island in this case). I then swim back over and I find my corpse with all my gear. My number of murders, bandit and zombie kills remains the same, once I get my gear it is as if I never actually died.
