crobinho 16 Posted September 16, 2012 If your looking for realism, then infinite powered NV goggles aint it, pal.maybe they are solar powered/recharged? And when you run arround during the day they recharge and you can then use them by night!!!
The_Dude (DayZ) 27 Posted September 16, 2012 Its pretty clear that this suggestion will not have the possibility of implementation until the standalone....Hackers be damned!
Bludy 324 Posted September 16, 2012 i agree with batteries in game, also in flashlight and gps.

crobinho 16 Posted September 16, 2012 Ummm no.lol, so its more plausible that someone would rely only on batteries instead of using something ppl do use on an every day basis, it doent even have to be solar powered, the lunar power tehnology is also advanced enough to be used on various items. but love your argument though, really hard to beat! crobinho 16 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Suck on this:http://usmilitary.ab...cts/blnvg-2.htmouch, you got me there! because we are looting through Arizona, the most likely NV googles we will find are the ones the US army is using! Well, thank you for clearing that! Edited September 16, 2012 by crobinho
The_Dude (DayZ) 27 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Standard issue US Army goggles:http://www.atncorp.c...-vision-gogglesKeep in mind that 60 hours of battery life is pretty darned good, especially when used sparingly.... they could last a very long time before needing new batteries. JarethJams 87 Posted September 16, 2012 Operation time: 12 hours on one 2.7 volt battery. I don't even play that long lolololololol.
The_Dude (DayZ) 27 Posted September 16, 2012 Operation time: 12 hours on one 2.7 volt battery. I don't even play that long lolololololol.Thats one version.... other battery types offer longer charges. The battery time would be persistent... so even tho you play for a couple hours one day and five hours another... that would add up over time to deplete the battery. JarethJams 87 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) The us army ones have 60 hrs lololol. deadlykenny 37 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Arg, Bambies talking about things they know nothing about, All these posts about how electronic scopes and NVG's should have battery life, They do have a battery life but they are military grade which means there battery life lasts for a year or so (depending on the make, they may only last for a few hours or days, but the thermal/nv scopes last for a year at least) before a need of new battery's arises, so as many people have said in posts about this before, Its a stupid idea and if you want realism it wont fit, Just wanted to clarify you on that :) Edited September 16, 2012 by kenny29
The_Dude (DayZ) 27 Posted September 16, 2012 Arg, Bambies talking about things they know nothing about, All these posts about how electronic scopes and NVG's should have battery life, They do have a battery life but they are military grade which means there battery life lasts for several years before a need of new battery's arises, so as many people have said in posts about this before, Its a stupid idea and if you want realism it wont fit, Just wanted to clarify you on that :)All I know is what I read on a spec sheet. Anyway, why not have battery life? Unlimited energy makes no sense.
deadlykenny 37 Posted September 16, 2012 As I said, there's no point in having them for the items i specified as you can't have even played for an entire year so pointless to add them to those items.
The_Dude (DayZ) 27 Posted September 16, 2012 I disagree with you on this point.
deadlykenny 37 Posted September 16, 2012 Well you can disagree all you like, but the fact is im right so :P to you sir, and also the military grade electronic vision equipment uses special types of batteries that last longer than normal, so finding them would be a real pain, and lets be honest, you hardly even have one set of NVG's for more than a couple of days or weeks because some bambi shoots you for no reason.
